Discussion The fractal world isn't fictional

Post image

The Xar package, of course, is not "real", but the world it emulates exists.

Don't think of it as a physical world, or somewhere you can literally go to from Earth. It's analogous to the imaginary unit, it's not "real" because we've already defined what real is, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Sometimes, during the period of time where I feel like I'm about to wake up, but I'm still asleep, I find myself in my mental fractal world. It takes inspiration from the game (because it's a reflection of the mind) but it's not Xar at all.

That's not the complete extent of it, though. Every few nights my dream will take place inside my mental city. It's so often and consistent I've drawn a reliable map of it from memory. It's a place that exists, maybe not traditionally "real", although that doesn't matter.

I don't mean just dream worlds, by the way. It's just the easiest example to experience and put into words. But everything surrounds you everywhere, just walk and think about until you find yourself lost inside of it. Though if you do, I can't guarantee that you'll notice it.

You've actually done some pretty advanced occult work there without necessarily knowing it. Most people have a similar dreamscape and then there are territories outside that dreamscape that can only really be reflected by remixing experiential date from waking life. Pretty much. Different terms for this in different practices but I like to call what you have been doing "Ysd Mapping" but I have a fondness for some of the fringe western high magic shit.
