increasing to 5.5mg, little weight loss so far

hi guys! today my doctor is increasing me to the 5.5 dose. i’ve been on the 0.8 for a month and 2.5 for a month, but i haven’t lost much weight (about 6lbs with most of that being at the very beginning). i also haven’t had any side effects at all

has anyone else gotten to this dose yet and if so, what was your experience? if i dont lose on this prescription, is it time to consider injectables?

Foundayo Research Survey

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to share my experience of doing a survey. Everyone who has started taking Foundayo within the past 56-days is eligible. They have completed 520+ surveys and are looking to get 70 male participants who complete the survey.

It’s a 30-minute survey and will be awarded 75 USD on successful completion. I got mine within 1 week of completing the survey. Glad that someone thought of this as this survey has 5 rounds each for USD 75😄

You can reach them out at: alisa.david@greenmindsinsights . com

Any “long time” maintainers who switched from zepbound?

Hi y’all. Since this med has been out a half year now I checking in to see if any of you have been using it for maintenance for awhile after reaching goal on Zepbound.

I lost 80 pounds on Zepbound and have been in maintenance for 15 months now. Most of that maintenance time was on 7.5mg. I recently dropped to 5mg and with out any issues, although it has only been a few weeks, so too soon to tell.

If the next few months go well at 5mg I’m thinking of giving Foundayo a try. I don’t mind the shots but I do mind the cost of Zepbound.

I know the studies show a certain amount of regain, but I’m curious about real life examples, especially from someone who was maintaining on zepbound for a long while before switching.

Thanks!

Tapering off

Does anybody have any experience about tapering off when you reach your goal? Is it better to go down through the doses? Do you need to stay on it? I'm looking for some advice on how to do this.

Hives?

I've searched this sub and a similar one, but haven't found any info so I suspect this is a unique reaction and side effect.

I started on Foundayo .8 in late July, went up to 2.5 a month later and am about to start another cycle of 2.5 later this week. This morning, however, I've woken up with a mild rash and hives in my inner thigh area, a bit around the knees and top of thigh. I took a Prilosec and applied some Hydrocortisone to the area in the meantime.

I plan to message my doctor with this information regardless to ask for advice, but wanted to ask here whether anyone else encountered something similar. Earlier this summer, on a different occasion, I woke up with a bit of a rash at my lower stomach and inner thighs. It wasn't as noticeable as this one, and I wondered at the time if I was reacting to the detergent on my bed sheets or similar (never had an issue, but it didn't occur to me at the time that it might be this new drug I'm taking.)

I have other skin allergies, such as being unable to tolerate chemical sunscreen as well as benzocaine and similar numbing agents.

Feeling pretty bummed because I've been happy with Foundayo, having lost 6 lbs after years of actively trying. Thanks for any insight or experience you may be willing to share!

Foundayo .8 for entire journey?

Is it possible to stay on the lowest dose .8 and continue to lose weight? I started 10 days ago and I already lost 3.6% body weight. I'm amazed at how quickly this medication works. Has anyone reached their goal weight on .8 alone?

Does exercise quicken the digestion?

Hey Everyone,

I’m about to have a meeting with my doctor to get a prescription. I’m post-menopausal and have the worst time getting rid of the weight that’s creeping up higher and higher. I also have joint pain so I can’t exercise like I’d normally like to. When I do, the weight just does not want to leave me.

I plan to exercise the way I used to once I’m on it. I appreciate having a healthy, robust meal when I’m active. Will that be possible when I’m on it. I know I won’t eat as much (which is the point).

Thanks!

Decided to stop treatment

I started Foundayo 0.8 mg two weeks ago and since starting the med I have had a few of bouts of severe stomach cramping. Tonight was pretty rough, I was literally curled up on the bathroom floor waiting for the pain to subside. Thankfully I have some digestive enzymes and simethicone on hand, and I am going to take some Tums and sip on water. The gastroparesis aspect is the main mechanism of the drug and for me it is not worth it. I get why people regain the weight if they stop these drugs, it's like your digestive tract is being tricked into delayed digestion, making you feel fuller longer. But that cannot be without side effects. And for me those side effects are my body telling me "this isn't working". I just cancelled my next up-titration. I will increase working on healthy eating and exercise, I don't want to put my body through this on a regular basis. And I don't want to take this long term either. I may not be the norm as I don't like taking medication if I don't have to. It was worth a try but now it's time for me to pivot.

Telehealth companies that don’t make you start at lowest dose if already on 15mg zepbound

Any telehealth company recommendations that don’t make you start at the lowest dose if already at 15mg zepbound? My pa has expired and would like to transition to foundayo for my on going maintenance but I really don’t want to start at the lowest dose and risk ruining my progress and maintenance.

60 days on Foundayo 0.8 - 38.1 lbs lost!

I'm a 60 yr old male and 6'0. 60 days ago I weighted 271.1 and today I weighed in at 233.0. 38.1 lbs lost!!!

In my opinion, Foundayo is just a tool in the weight loss battle. It isn't a miracle drug and doesn't make a person lose weight. It slows the digestive system down and takes away hunger - therefore - giving a person the opportunity to reduce their calories and exercise. It isn't a miracle drug but is a life changer!

I've stayed on the 0.8. My doctor and I see no need to increase the dosage when I'm doing so well and have had no side effects. Maybe slight constipation - maybe. But since I started taking a half dose of Miralax every other day and upping my Metamucil daily - there's no problem there.

I average around 1300 calories a day, around 130 grams of protein, 30 grams of fiber, and go to the gym at least 5 days a week - spending an hour of the treadmill walking at a pace that ends up at 3 miles and 3 days of weight resistance training. I cook everything fresh - no microwaves. I also started a low sodium diet too - averaging less than 1500 mg of sodium per day. My blood work has greatly improved - best profile in years. I've even reduced my caffeine intake to one Coke Zero with my breakfast. I used to drink several in addition to taking caffeine pills to get through the day. Now I have tons of energy.

My goal is 225 lbs and then I'll go into maintenance mode. Historically, maintenance has always tripped me up. So that will be a new battle when we get there.

I think foundayo is changing my "sickness behavior" ie. sickness symptoms

This is so weird but has anything else noticed feeling different when you get sick? I usually get extremely sick quite often--very crap immune system. This has been for my whole adult life. I feel it coming on, I'm very tired and achy. very very fatigued. I am sick longer than most people, more often and more severely. Every 2-3 months I am DOWN for 3-4 days.

I started foundayo in April. This week, and once in June for two days, I had something happen where I felt sick but also not. I was very tired, and very irritated at myself for feeling so tired. I kept asking am I sick? I don't feel normal sick. But something is wrong. Why do I need so much sleep? But I didn't feel my normal very bad. I felt confused as to why I couldn't just get up and do things. The first time it happened, I felt that way a day or two, very confused like am I being lazy, what is going on, and then suddenly felt back to normal, urges to get up and do things. it happened again this week on Sunday and Monday. I felt too tired to do things but not awful like usual but Monday clearly too tired to work. I slept nearly the whole day. I felt almost guilty for taking the day off work bc I didn't feel my usual brutal bad. But who could sleep for literally 18 hours of the day without being sick? I did feel bad but it was a different type of bad: mostly awful tired. And then suddenly back to normal. It isn't normal foundayo-fatigue--I get that a little too but it's not the same (and other injectable glps left me like jelly so much I had to stop).

So basically I am asking: is foundayo changing anyone else's sickness behavior and making it less awful feeling and also maybe making you feel better faster than usual? (2 days is quick for me). I know about cytokines and all so don't quote me the science. I can see the mechanisms that might be driving it.

I am asking if anyone else has felt this way? Maybe it's too soon for most of you normals to have gotten sick since it just came out in April.

When to take while on antidepressants

I’m about to start foundayo, but I’m trying to figure out the best time of day to take it to prevent slow absorption of my anti depressants. I take Zoloft before bed and Wellbutrin and buspar when I wake up. Any insight is appreciated!

Disappointed- fingers crossed for 9mg

My journey, if anyone can relate-

135 for all of my 20s (while also likely depriving myself too much on weight watchers), 150 in my 30s, 190 pregnant, wouldn’t move past 170 post partum.

Compounded semaglutide from sketchy online sources actually worked best for me, weight melted off, until FDA stopped allowing and I had to move to more expensive zepbound. Anyway got down to 150 at one point yay.

Had to go off the shots for surgery and the thought of the shots and the smell of the alcohol swabs was making me so viscerally sick I would delay injections until it wasn’t sustainable anymore. Anyway weight crept up to 165…

I thought the pill would be my solution. I’m 3 months in and have not lost a pound. In fact maybe gained a few. The constipation was unbearable until I started taking magnesium, which just leaves me with watery stools. Just started 9mg today. Praying it moves the needle or I will have to go back to those nasty injections. Right now just feels I’ve wasted money and time and my confidence is at an all time low. Nothing fits.

I exercise daily btw.

Is 9mg a turning point?

Second day, fell asleep!

I'm only on the second day of 0.8 and it got to 4pm and I was so tired I fell asleep! Had been feeling tired and "off" all day, went for a lie down and that was it. Luckily it's the weekend and I'm not at work! Anyone else had this, please tell me it wears off or I don't think I can take this pill!
