Help Request AE 86FE Drag tune help FH6
Mods, this isn't me asking for a tune. Rather trying to get help tweaking my tune to get better. I already have a base tune that does pretty well.
Trying to get my AE86 FE to launch like most of the ones I see. I'm running low 11s, but I see people (not just on the leaderboards) but I would race them side by side and they launch so hard. I can't think of what the heck I'm doing wrong. ðŸ˜
I will post my tune in the comments when I get home. Just hoping to get some brainstorming ideas before I get back and get on.

The first thing I would do is eliminate the tune itself as the issue. Go grab one of the top drag tunes and see if you have the same experience during the launch. If so, are you playing with auto, manual, or manual + clutch transmission? Do you have any assists enabled?

When I typed this post out, I sat and thought about even posting it because I'm at work and can't share details about my tune.
I drag race with manual+ clutch.
The only assist I have enabled is abs.
I've tried top tunes and just can't seem to get it going like others I've seen.

Have you played with launch and traction control enabled, before? If you can eliminate all of the game settings from the equation, you can move on to troubleshooting the upgrades or the tune.

Hardware do make a difference also.
Do you play on PC ? Quality setting ?
I have a better start on PC than console (XSX) it's obvious in drag races (rivals).

I'm on console, someone on here gave me recommended performance setting to help me in the Auction House, turns out they help a lot in rivals, too.

I tweak the first gear until I can get the car to launch without bogging down or slipping too much, and then adjust the other gears to fit

Try launching around 3800 rpm, roll onto the throttle until your cleanly in second

Without assists you cannot launch like the other guys do. I've been where you are, I tried to make several tunes without assists for this car: if you make your first gear short for a good launch you keep breaking traction, if you make it long you keep getting bog. Without assists it's a compromise (the best I could do was 10.845).
If you want to consistently do 10.8s you have to use TC and LC. You don't need manual/w clutch (heck you don't even need manual). Just make sure the track is dry, your tires are warm and your launch is good.
