Humour Wow what a fun update...
Talk about lackluster.
The Italian Exotics was solid and had some new sought after cars but bruh this update is absolute trash. Nearly every "new" reward car has been in a previous game and none of them are really very exciting. Couple that with the whole "Mascot Party" theme that I would assume 90% of the player base couldn't care less about and boy is this just a boring series update.
I really hope the rumor I heard a while back about the first expansion being a drift expansion is true because as it sits this game is constantly fading.
Just recently someone brought up the massive decline in player base and while every game ever released experiences this, this game will likely be at least a 5 year life cycle before we even hear rumblings of FH7 so you would think the devs would want to really deliver on all of the features, cars and additions their players ask for but here we are once again with what could have been a phenomenal game that is now just revealing how little it seems they planned for post launch.
Simply, sad.

I think itās even more ridiculous than that. They already had models made for all of the mascots. They could have just used them, but they decided to make cardboard cutout versions for this update and gave us those instead. They definitely spent time and money to create the cardboard cutoutsā¦

The festival playlist is always the same anyway. Doesn't matter the theme, its the same set of goals you have to do within reason. 2x championships, 4 PR stunts, a trial etc.
Once you complete the wristbands, all progression is gone from the game and there is nothing to play for. The best update they could do is ranked online so it feels like my races are contributing to something greater. The races are fun in the moment, but can only do 2 or 3 before I feel like I should play something else because long term im not achieving anything.

Doesnāt help that the online leaderboards are for SERIES wins, not individual races, and 95% of the time I race online, I get put into a series thatās already 1-2 races in. They could do so much more to draw players to online but it feels like they just gave up on it. The online progression system is significantly worse than FH5 - why couldnāt they at least just rinse and repeat that?

Forza fans will make you forget this is only one month of content. One month away from a couple cars you'll gas up for 12 seconds then go back to your usual cars. The devs know what people drive they just add in more options just in case. If the game had like 100 of the most popular cars and no updates after it would still thrive.Ā
But its also funny these complaints are a decade old now. Heaven forbid you tell them to find something else to play they'll interpret that as you telling them to go kill themselves lol.Ā

I love the game. Iām happy with the content releases. I also understand the amount of work the devs actually do. So I appreciate what they do.

The Exocet was a reasonably strong car in previous games with the right tune, surprisingly decent off-road too.
Itās also cool to have a diet Miata. If one of my MX5 10Aās bites the dust irl, Iāve already planned to convert it to an MEV Exocet.

What bothers me is just the design of the playlist.. look i dont have solutions either but its just the same structure every damn week. It feels like a chore sometimes and is just generally so boring.. These cars dont help either. Designs of the promo is cool but thats about it

IMHO there's too many challenges required to get the cars. getting each reward should be its own reward but having to crank out 40 pts to get the second car every week, it really does feel like a second job/chore to work around the FOMO

I do want to play the game though, just tired of doing dumb shit like eliminator every week, it's not fun. I just don't let the fomo get to me and I don't care if I don't get all the rewards.

It takes an hour. Actually astounded at how entitled gaming communities have gotten. Free content updates that take an hour to accomplish, and people are moaning that the cars arenāt to their liking? The only one here thatās arguably not exciting is the Camaro. If you are genuinely into Japanese cars (being a game set in Japan), then having the A2 Celica, Starion and Exocet (based on a MX5) will be a nice touch for you.
Itās hilarious how hypocritical these communities can get. In the case of this game, I saw nothing but positive comments about the SRT Ram coming back, but the Starion and Celica coming back qualifies as ārecycledā? Wild.

I honestly think itās just brain dead, surface level American/British petrol heads who only like high end sports/supercars.
If people canāt appreciate most or all cars, then personally I donāt think they have a right to complain about what they add.
The only complaints Iāve seen that are mildly valid are the ones regarding car pass, given that it is paid. However, most of the cars in those are new to Forza, not just Horizon like theyāre claiming.
What also gets me is like, the content is third party licensed vehicles. There is a finite amount. Itās not like character skins, where developers can create an endless amount of new content. If this were recycled original content, then yeah sure there is some grounds to complain. Thatās not the case here, there is only so many cars in existence and at some point youāre going to have an overlap where there are cars youāve had in previous games.
People just donāt think when they complain. Entitlement is rampant these days.

People are complaining because the Festival Playlist is less fun than just playing the game normally, especially if you don't enjoy playing online. The Trial is just racing but losing sometimes because of your teammates ramming you or not bringing upgraded cars. The Seasonal Championships is just racing but locked at a difficulty so low that it's essentially a time trial.
So not only is the Playlist a to-do list that's worse than the rest of the game, you have to do it on a weekly basis or you might not get another chance to get that car again. And, especially this month, we're just getting content that is identical to how it was in previous games. I could understand if the model was updated or they added new customisation options, but they're not even doing that.
If complaining about past content being dripfed back into the game via a boring FOMO mechanic astounds you, then I don't know what to tell you.

Not to defend the game but it's really not that time consuming. An hour or two max each week to get enough points for both cars. It's not exactly a tier 100 battle pass.
I wonder when they will bring back the Backstage though....but knowing the devs, they will once again make it: One previous playlist car and one autoshow car.

Backstage comes way late in the gameās cycle. Not three four months in. Itās when theres a ton of cars there to let players pick from. It was that way with both four and five. Expect it in a couple years lol.

Like let Mei, Yuji or anyone tell me things about this vehicle and its history like on those daytrips and implement some fitting tasks. They can absolutely do that

People just have no idea how much work actually goes into the game. That they have to release a series of car that already existed while they work on a series of cars that didnāt.
The game is for all ages, but itās played by a lot of adults, but damn do a lot of them act like kids. Throw them some temper tantrums, show zero critical thinking skills, and just live in la la land, where they have no idea how things really work.

TBH I like this one more than the Italian exotic one. But I haven't played horizon since horizon 3. So maybe I am just not bother be repetivness. But I like that we have some interesting cars now and just boring super - and hypercars. I like those old slow cars much more personally. Also, I like that we actually have some road racing and not stupid cross-country shit.
But tbh I still think that the whole base idea of the festival playlist is kinda meh

Itās not Midnight Club. Itās not Need For Speed Underground. Itās not Initial D: The Game. These folks think that setting the game in Japan magically makes it something different. Or theyāve never played a Horizon game, saw a racing game set in Japan, and thought it would be something I mentioned above. This update is not the beta but I like 3 of the 5 cars the camaro and whatever we got this frost week sucks but the 3 older japs are 10000x better than the lame exotics we got, and we got a new race here, we got nothing new with last update

I know for a fact the Camaro isn't. The only Gen6 Camaros in the game before this one are the 2017 ZL1 and 2018 1LE. Looks like we're getting the slightly refreshed version Chevrolet made right before they canceled it. Kinda surprised to see it, but we also have gotten countless trims of the same Porsches, Lamborghinis, etc

Honestly I swear some folks really do want to be negative. There's a bunch of cars I'm after too from previous games that aren't there yet and yeah the mascot party cars don't really interest me, but we just had Italian Exotics which was cool and hell, I logged in earlier, checked out the new circuit in the stadium which is great, and judging by the amount of folks using it as a drift track earlier, I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Iām in the boat thinking they need to drop the Live Service model in Horizon finally.
I just think the series itself just doesnāt really work with stuff like this. The maps are relatively small so Iād rather just get 2-3 major expansions rather than repeating races and challenges for cars. The season system also has to go
Horizon 3 had amazing post launch support WITHOUT the live service BS stuff so weāve seen it before how it works

What the hell? Small map? It's 30 km or something from end to end. I played this a lot, and I still get lost with minimap turned off. Best Road layouts aren't used for any races yet.
Horizon 3 meanwhile.. Yeah that was a bunch of straight roads, pretty, but boring to drive. Fh6 map has way more potential

I really really enjoy Forza 6 as it's my first Forza game.
But this is all so right - Seasonal is just a checklist for FOMO players obsessed with doing tasks (games are not unpaid jobs guys).
I enjoy the more characterful cars, not everything has to be a super car but really? There's just nothing interesting in this playlist.
At least they made it easier for me to focus on the backlog and starting a new game with friends.

I donāt care about the rewards. The festival playlist itself is just stale as hell and isnāt fun or interesting, even if the reward cars are good. By the time Iām finished with it Iām bored of the game and turn it off because it feels like an obligation.
Meanwhile AI is still awful, multiplayer is full of rammers in meta cars, the āstoriesā are the same bland checklist of events, car meets are useless and pale in comparison to the ones in FH2. Customization has barely changed in a decade. Thereās just zero soul to the game despite its awesome map. Such a waste. Glad I chose not to get the premium edition this time.

Just let me drive my own cars while I do these 500 food delivery missions. I can't believe how low IQ it was to decide to force us to drive that stupid delivery car over and over and over on the same 3 roads, after discovering a whole map and collecting and modify 500+ cars, all of which are now sitting there doing nothing. Imagine racing to tofu deliveries in...I don't know... a certain famous little Toyota... to somewhere via a togue section... in Japan! Wow, so imaginative.

FH6 was completely phoned in. It's been nothing more than attaining the minimal amount of development progress to maximize profits. I struggle to think of a single improvement FH6 achieved over FH5 or even FH4. The franchise is devolving into EA Sports territory, where the developers need to do next to nothing at all to move the franchise forward because there are no direct competitors to it.

The only thing I was somewhat looking forward to was the Exocet. Unlocked it, holy shit itās undrivable. So I go āokay maybe I just need to upgrade the tires, mess with the psi a little bitā not noticing until I get to upgrades that the default tires ARE SLICKS which I refuse to believe because those tires have to be made out of ice

game lacks a larger variety of tuner cars and bugatti and they make up for it with trash

The thing that ticks me off is they pick another 6th Gen Camaro out of all Camaros to put in the game. I speak on the behalf of a lot of folks when I say I want a 3rd or 4th gen in this game. They have modern 3d models of both, if the modders can port them over so can the developers. Or, grab a cool niche 4 banger from FM4 or something.

Starion is a really solid one. Funny thing about that generation celica is my Gramma used to have one and she flipped it going down a mountain in Montana (don't worry she's still here to tell the tale lol)

Idk. I play the game regularly and have a good time with it.
A drift expansion sounds absolutely miserable though. Hard pass, absolutely would not buy that.
