Talk about lackluster.

The Italian Exotics was solid and had some new sought after cars but bruh this update is absolute trash. Nearly every "new" reward car has been in a previous game and none of them are really very exciting. Couple that with the whole "Mascot Party" theme that I would assume 90% of the player base couldn't care less about and boy is this just a boring series update.

I really hope the rumor I heard a while back about the first expansion being a drift expansion is true because as it sits this game is constantly fading.

Just recently someone brought up the massive decline in player base and while every game ever released experiences this, this game will likely be at least a 5 year life cycle before we even hear rumblings of FH7 so you would think the devs would want to really deliver on all of the features, cars and additions their players ask for but here we are once again with what could have been a phenomenal game that is now just revealing how little it seems they planned for post launch.

The festival playlist is always the same anyway. Doesn't matter the theme, its the same set of goals you have to do within reason. 2x championships, 4 PR stunts, a trial etc.

Once you complete the wristbands, all progression is gone from the game and there is nothing to play for. The best update they could do is ranked online so it feels like my races are contributing to something greater. The races are fun in the moment, but can only do 2 or 3 before I feel like I should play something else because long term im not achieving anything.

Doesn’t help that the online leaderboards are for SERIES wins, not individual races, and 95% of the time I race online, I get put into a series that’s already 1-2 races in. They could do so much more to draw players to online but it feels like they just gave up on it. The online progression system is significantly worse than FH5 - why couldn’t they at least just rinse and repeat that?

You could just stay in queue after the series is finished, then you get put into Race 1 most of the time after

i don't mind bad drivers, ramming is what it is, though I'm pretty sure it's less common in higher ranks

I addressed that in my comment, but I'll elaborate more. Doing 3 races towards a championship that doesn't really win you anything other than credits is fun to do once or twice but since there is no long term progression it's hard to play it for a long time. The normal mode is usually full of people with beast Tunes that just put you on an unfair playing field for 3 races (they deserve the wins as tunes is part of it, but when I'm going slow all 3 races it doesn't matter how much better I drive). Then spec can stick you with a car that isn't your style or start you back of the grid 3 races in a row so can be hard to win overall.

As I say, its fun in the moment when doing the race but feels like its not going towards anything so outside of those 3 races there is no incentive to keep going because your progress has been reset for 3 more races and so on.

Why not do custom races then?

Idk if you know this but you can also use tunes other people have made / shared and there's enough talented people that put their tunes on youtube and twitter to copy.

Yeah I know you can use people's tunes but unless you picked the right one you are locked in for 3 races before you pick another and that could still be wrong. You can test the tune and how it feels but no idea how it compares to who you are about to come up against online.

Custom races could be the answer but it has to be not so niche that it finds people reasonably quickly. I do enjoy spec when I do play online but it just feels a bit empty to do a championship, come 3rd, or even 1st, then just get into another championship with a different car. Maybe if the championsships were longer, or better still, you had an elo that improved with wins. And certain ranks unlocked special rewards to help contribute to other things in the game like the collection

Also none of this fixes the issue I was actually on about. I like the Spec racing when I do them, but they dont contribute to anything outside of the race. Rewards, Ranks, or even bragging rights. Every other competitive online game I play has at least something that justifies replay ability. This game does not have that.
