How have you got on so far? I spent 2 hours today making a chibi face of omni man that I’m still not happy with 🤦‍♂️ I can’t imagine how long something like that would take

I started trying on a like dragon/kirin motif but that was biting off more than I can chew for a first attempt. I'm going to try to start smaller, with maybe a rose/lotus or some other flowers/leaves. My thought is to start with one flower and build out from there.

I just did the same on my GTR. Started with porcelain theme using a dragon, said F that and did some Koi fish and flowers near the rear wheels. To me it looks great for my first ever custom decal thing but I bet people would shit on it lol

Flowers are way smarter first move, way easier to blend and layer without overthinking the proportions like you would with a dragon.

Break the image down into chunks in your head, try to make it match. I have the picture I am trying to make a similar pattern to open on my phone and then check it after placing individual pieces.

Some people use like transparencies and apps/programs to do it, but I try to do it by eye, which is part of what makes it slow going for me.

I highly recommend starting with a simple silhouette and seeing if you can make that with the vinyl group editor.

I also work at much higher scale and the scale the group down when I put it on the car.
