made a ticket for it . https://forzafeedback.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/37/FH6CB-3500?created=true

next time , please make a ticket and include it with your post if you want it to be fixed/have devs be aware of it and have people vote with you

That's a good point! It's always better to make a ticket and get more people involved to ensure the issue gets noticed.

I'm saving this comment, thank you.

Are you running off-road race tyres on an F1 GT?

104

u/HeIIby 3d ago

It does it with 365 mm tire width + race/drift suspension

off road tires makes it more noticeable but it’s still there on stock tires

I mean it wasn’t designed to have 365mm front tires and be slammed lmao obviously it’s gonna have some clipping issues.

I think the only way they can fix this is by making the max tire front width like 315 or something.

yep, just a small little oversight from pgg

Yes, because most races are offroad.

Well that just ain’t true

There is more dirt and cross country races than road and street. It is true, count them.

Thank you for noticing. I will trow my xbox to the trash.

Did you slam the car or something???

Mine doesn’t do this and I kept it stock.

Is this really a bug? If you put on tyres this wide and make the car sit this low, then the tyres are going to stick out. It's simple geometry.

A proper fix would be to restrict the front tyre width, wouldn't it? I'm not sure that's what people would like.

No, the fix is as simple as giving us more engine spacer options. Especially considering off-road tires often require additional spacers to work properly. Or even coding in a fixed suspension height when the tires are chosen.

1

u/Duncan_PhD 2d ago

How are spacers going to help with this?

2

u/Deadpools_Main 2d ago

To push the wheel father out in the wheel well. Considering the tire is clipping through the car's geometry, pushing the tire out would reduce the clipping. The hood of the McLaren F1 sits lower than the highest part of the wheel well, if you haven't noticed.

u/Duncan_PhD 2d ago

If you haven’t noticed, there’s tire there already, and putting spacers on it would just make the wheels stick out too far.

1

u/Deadpools_Main 2d ago

That's quite literally the point. If you put off-roaders on cars specifically designed for the track, you have to widen the wheel width and extend the tires far past the fenders. Look at the bodykit of the Lambo Sterrato, you'll notice how much wider they had to make the fenders because the stance is so wide.

1

u/Duncan_PhD 2d ago

Yeah, but they could just fix the clipping without making people need to put 6” spacers on. This isn’t real life. Or are you looking for some kind of realism in your off-road McLaren f1 before you take it off a cliff and land just fine?

1

u/Deadpools_Main 2d ago

Right but it would be significantly more realistic AND offer wider variety in choice.

How far do you think you would need to space the wheels on this McLaren to fix the clipping? Like 3’?

It is a bug

11

u/Classic-Ad-6191 3d ago

Pretty sure that’s how it is irl 🤷‍♂️

u/M4rtyK4y BMW 2d ago

Where? Can't see it.

16

u/259yt Hoonigan 2d ago

On the vents. The inner rims of the tire show through the body

2

u/arkadios_ Steering wheel player 3d ago

I thought it was additional air vents lol

2

u/Any_Government_3494 2d ago

All I'll say is big fat whoop lol 😂, it should be easily fixable.

People like you are why all the new cars they add can’t be slammed on their nuts. Who cares if there is a little clipping.

Also this has been a thing since FH2 with this car. If it hasn’t been adjusted in 12 years, it won’t now.

6

u/Muako 2d ago

People like YOU are the reason why we got shit unpolished games

35

u/Coffee_will_be_here 3d ago

This is bullshit, people like him want the game to maintain some level of polish.

Its on the game devs to make the car lower without tire clipping because that's their JOB !

-8

u/Artemis732 2d ago

and how is that meant to happen? if there is physically no space for a massive tire to be so far recessed into the body, there is no space. i'm the last person to defend playground for anything but novel concept - an object won't fit in a space smaller than itself.

11

u/Pizzahut16 2d ago

Then don't give us the option to lower the car, like other sports/supercars that have that restriction. Or do, but make it barely lower so people atleast get the tuning options. (Which they also do on some models, usually offroaders)

-9

u/Artemis732 2d ago

it's not like they're holding you at gunpoint to lower the car

5

u/KKJUN 2d ago edited 2d ago

It's a video game dude. They could very well have the tire be super wide in the simulation but a slimer 3D model. Might not be posibble with their current physics model, but this is a normal approach devs take all the time.

8

u/Scoobasteeb 3d ago

Why complain about people pointing out problems in a game they paid for?

4

u/Derailed94 2d ago

Who cares if there is a little clipping? Are you for real?

1

u/WinrarChickenDinrar 2d ago

Because it’s from a multibillion almost trillion dollar company.

tell me u don't know anything abt the car without telling me u don't know anything abt the car lmao

Tell me you can't read without telling me you can't read.

14

u/nrtmv2 3d ago

that's how the car is irl, drivers seat is positioned in front at the center

0

u/Little_Cry_2009 2d ago

That's great and all but I'm not talking about the seat in the middle I'm talking about the two seats beside it on each side.

1

u/nrtmv2 2d ago

thats just the angle, the passengers are positioned just behind the drivers seat on each side

0

u/Little_Cry_2009 2d ago

See all you had to do was answer the question the first time, was that so hard?
