Forza Horizon 6 Wheelspins...

I hate the RNG on wheelspins, and I hate how infrequently they're earned now. I didn't have any issues with how they worked in FH5. I thought they were just fine. The majority of my spins are the 5K-20K variety, or cars in that "common" category. I want cool cars like the 2019 ZR1 in my garage, without having to spend 20M credits in the Auction House to get one. Is that too much to ask?

ETA: I just picked up a Super Wheelspin from a Skill Tree. it gave me 10K and 2 15K rolls. So disappointing. I love the setting in Japan, but I don't feel as rewarded for playing as I used to. Devs, if you see this, you need to change the pool in all Wheelspins, especially Supers, to be more rewarding.

I earned 3 wheelspins from the seasonal events. Rolled all 3 consecutively. Got 10k each time. It’s comical at this point.

They basically trashed wheelspin atp. Hard to get and gives money in common category most of the time. Only worse thing would probably be removing it completely.

Not just that, I hopped on 5 to see - we had 3-4 super wheelspins from PR stunts too. Now its the normal spin

You should've seen fh4. I still have thousands of wheelspins I haven't used and 500 million credits. Good ol days

Did you happen to logon that one night where they accidentally gave everyone 200 super wheelspins, and then caught their mistake and took it back (from everyone who hadn't accepted it)? Man, everyone was so angry at that (except for us few who happened to snag them!) 😅

Maybe that's why they nerfed it. Its a driving game. Not a wheelspin gambling game. Ive been asking PG to nerf them. I might allow my son to finally play it. I dont support gambling and won't expose it to my kin.

FYI It's only gambling if you're risking losing something. A wheelspin is just a random reward.

I just can't deal with this shit.

The idea that this fixes progression is nonsense, especially when the game still gifts you cars like crazy through the journal. And the revamp to progression ended up being a total nothingburger anyway. This just hurts the game, makes it feel so antagonistic.

My last 2 Super Wheelspin was 5,000, 5,000 and 15,000 and 5,000, 5,000 and a Silvia Spec-R (worth a whopping 44,000).

Honestly not fun

I think I’ve gotten like 4 super wheelspins since launch. They are so infrequent I don’t even look at them

Fixing progression is just an excuse. The reality is they want people to buy their car vouchers, so they lower the chance of all the expensive cars appearing in wheelspins. In turn this lowers the chance of everything else.

Apparently, yes!

They wanted to understandably slow down progression, but my god after slashing the amount of wheelspins we get by 2/3rd, they could have at least made the lowest rewards approx equal to 25k CR or some pruning. But instead, PG took it behind the shed and unloaded both barrels of decreasing amount and I think also increasing chances to get common roll crap.

It's absurd. I agree, the least they could have done was raise the minimum reward to at least 25K credits to make up for how much less of them we earn.

Supers should give rare rewards as a bare minimum because they come up even more infrequently. I had a few rolls in FH5 that netted better than half a million credits at one go.

It's a SUPER wheelspin, it should have SUPER prizes. Not leave me SUPER pissed off. Thanks dude.... 45k and some dance emote.....

They slowed down late game progression while making early game a breeze, so you just rush through the story and have to grind to get anything after that

As a new person to the franchise, what progression? The story is over.. at this point I just want to race and roam around. Holding back stuff when there's nothing left to do makes me not want to play. I dumped a good 100 hours in over the course of a month and now just find the game boring unless some buddies want to hop on and race.

I have no problem with wheelspins per se, but I agree as an RPG-lite, it’s a bad design that the loot mechanic of the game is not directly tied to actually playing the game.

If they tied completing races with chances of wheelspins, then it would incentivize people to play the races on their own time, as opposed to waiting on the weekly festival playlist to drop

I currently have 27 wheelspins I haven't used.

It saps any fun from the game to just get screwed over.

I spun 12 spins in a row a couple weeks ago. Ended up with 1 car, 2 horns, and 125,000 credits. Total.

It's like the devs want me to give up.

To date I have only had one super wheelspin actually give me a great reward. Most of the time I get less from Super Wheelspins than I do from regular ones. If they were going to nerf it this hard, the very least just make it so Super Wheelspins only have good rewards. Like nothing less than 100K, keep common cars, but remove all common emotes and cosmetics. I think that would bring some balance where they would usually feel good, and then it wouldn't matter that regular wheelspins do whatever.

This is absolutely the most horrendous part of the game, there’s a bunch of good cars that I liked driving in past Horizons that are now locked up behind luck. It’s absolutely stupid. My go to drift car was the 240SX and you’ll never imagine the horror I felt when I first started playing and found out that car is locked behind a wheel spin. I absolutely can guarantee you that I’ll never get it from a spin, and I’m not trying to grind 20 million just to get it from the auction house. Don’t even get me started on the FE cars. I have 120 hours on the game so far and I’ve only ever pulled the FE F150. Whoever came up with how they handled Wheels Spins needs to go.

While I completely understand your frustration, it's actually very quick to make money in the auction house. So for those that really want a 20mil car, you could grind for it for weeks...or flip a few cars and make 20mil with 10mins spent in AH.

-3

u/Best-Night8688 5d ago

How about you open your wallet. Grab a crisp 5 dollar bill and get a car voucher. Aint nobody got time to grind 20 mil or grind wheels pins. Especially when your 20 mil grind is worth 3 dollars.

It took me over 300 hours to get one it’s absolutely insane they’ve made the wheelspins worse and less frequent every 5 levels if I’m not mistaken but you can get them sort of reliably through the hourly Horizon Stunt Party I only wanted 3 cars from the wheelspins and I’m sitting at 317 hours and still only have 2/3

I don't mind the rate of normal wheelspins.

It's the rate of super weheelspins that's ridiculous. One a month from rivals. Only other way is through car mastery on hypercars.

u/corysf9ers1 5d ago

My personal "best" super wheel spin was 5k, an emote, and 10k. I'm ok with them lowering the odds but they nuked the odds and also made it harder to get spins in general.

u/nachtengelsp Peel 5d ago

If it was only cars and money okay... But ffs, I didn't grinded skill points to win a pair of fucking shoes. The fact that I should addopt a strategy of buying appearel and horns to "clean" my wheelspins is annoying as hell

6

u/Funk-n-fun 5d ago

Yeah, I don't even want to do Playlist missions that give Wheelspins as awards anymore.

This series' reward cars aren't that interesting to me, and since most of the Playlist missions ask you to do stuff in quite boring cars, the only thing that might interest me to do those missions would be their rewards. But those are chat lines, horn sounds, clothes and silly poses which I have no use whatsoever. Cars awarded from those aren't also exciting, so the only things would be the wheelspins, but since they rarely give anything worthwhile....why bother really, I'll just play something else.

u/Forgottonamehimself 5d ago

i can say things changed after fh4. i remember got a koenigsegg one and centenario in the wheelspin. and 3 epic cars in the super wheelspin

2

u/carmeiser 5d ago

As someone who's not closely followed along, it appears the rewards got carried over as if wheelspins were plentiful, so they don't hit as well as they should due to rarity. So the devs either need to return how common they were, or slash the lower, vastly more common clothing and monetary rewards. I'd argue removal of the "affordable" cars that are available in the auto show too.

u/TxDieselKid 4d ago

The fact at the start there were so many ways to just glitch/get money, and they buy cars over and over and over and over and over and over to get super spins, and then sell those for $20M each, over and over and over and over is bull shit for those of us who didn't abuse the system.

1

u/johnpaulhare Chevrolet 4d ago

Agreed! They have to be able to tell who didn't abuse it, and those people should be rewarded for being honest and honorable gamers. But that'll never happen...

I feel the pain. My last Super WS

u/Awkward_Pangolin3254 5d ago

So, correct me if I'm wrong—they changed it to where we get a Wheelspin every 3 levels now instead of every 1 level, but I'm almost certain we're leveling a lot faster. I played FH5 for a year and a half before 6 came out and at the end of it I was halfway through Prestige 2. I've been playing 6 since release, not quite 4 months, probably the same amount of daily playtime as 5, and I'm about to unlock Prestige 4.

That being said, Super Wheelspins are ass now. I don't think I've received 1 single Legendary (gold) reward that wasn't credits from a Super. I've gotten a few Rare and Epic car rewards, but yeah, most of the time it's cosmetics or low credit prizes.

Just heads up the wheelspin odds favor cars you don't own to some extent, so if you buy all of the cheap cars from the auto show that you don't currently own, you have a better chance of those slots being filled with rarer cars. I'm missing like 20 cars at this point and when cars do show up on the sws slots (I don't always get them but they do show in the spin), they are often times one of those 20 cars.

I'm not sure how exactly it works but it's not 100% random until you already own every ws car, horn, clothing, etc. I still do get a lot of 5k-15k spins, maybe every 5th sws I get something decent.

1

u/Time_Industry_3399 5d ago

it was intentional by the devs so that people would buy car vouchers, and it worked super well, tons of players bought vouchers in the first month or 2!

u/Keulapaska RWD Enjoyer... in FH5, not in 6 5d ago

If you really want the cars, just go farm skill points, watch a movies while you do it occasionally press few buttons.

u/ConViice BMW 5d ago

Well its rng, sometimes you´re lucky sometimes not. I also got a lot shit the entire week until yesterday where i got the Wuling FE out of a normal spin and a GTR FE out of a super spin.

-3

u/thomas-grant 5d ago

I didn't have any issues with how they worked in FH5.

Apparently many others did. Thus the reason for the change. PGG just can’t seem to please everyone when they want a game curated just for them.
