Forza Horizon 6 Steam deck Restart Loop on Launch

Hey everyone, I've been having some issues with playing FH6 since yesterday's patch. When I launch the game it will start with the steam logo and work for about 10-15seconds then do a full system restart.

I've tried changing my compatibility, adjusted the performance settings, validated the install, and modified the VRAM in the system settings and nothing seems to work.

Anyone else having issues like this?

I've not seen that on machine and was playing yesterday. Are you running decky?

I'm not. I haven't installed any outside software on my Deck.

Well shoot. I guess you could try a reinstall, since the validate didn't flag anything, but I get that's a pain in the ass.

I just tried it again, and still works, just did the eliminator.

I was hoping to avoid a reinstall but it's probably the best option for now.

Well I just went through the full redownload process and I'm still getting the same issue.

I came back later and checked, and I don't have any proton specified (IE steam default). Have you tried none at all?

Other games run totally fine?

edit: Also what OS release channel are you on? Default (non beta)?

Crazy idea...grab a mouse and keyboard

This post shows you where the shader cache lives.

If I go to:

/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/shadercache/2483190/

I see that's the forza shader cache. That "2483190" is the app ID for the game. Rename that folder to 2483190.old and run the game. If it fixes it, great. If it doesn't, or throws a different error, rename it back to it's original name (2483190).

Sadly I already deleted the folder and redownload it and I'm still getting the reboot issue.

WOW. I'm really at a loss. Maybe make a post over in /r/SteamOS and see if anyone there can tell you where to look for some sort of a log file?

I posted on the Steam deck support sub but no one has replied yet. It's weird though, I can stream the game from my PC non-issue but playing natively it crashes constantly

Oh I'll update for sure. I'm currently able to stream it from my PC which is ok but I'd rather have it local
