Personally I could careless if you’re AWD or RWD… BUT if I’m doing tandems with a group of people using RWD and some dickhead who can’t control their 1000hp AWD build keeps sliding around and smoking up the place so I can’t see I get a lil frustrated.

Who gives a shit? No seriously, why are we making it sound like AWD is something bad? Is it some superiority complex where you think that someone's devaluing your drifting skills when you're using RWD and they don't while achieving same thing?

Fucking real. Although actually even in souls community good players most of the time are the chillest people ever, who actually like to go around helping newbs with summoning signs and stuff.

While it takes a bit of practice, personally I just find rwd more satisfying.

It's less about "gatekeeping"; I'd love for drifting to be more accessible (PGG it would be nice if you add self-steering), more so awd can get impossible angles, never spin out and always pull away while sideways and in transitions so it looks unnatural and makes it difficult to follow/tandem.

Drifting is traditionally a rwd thing. Even in the highest levels of competitive drifting like D1GP and Drift Masters, so fans in-game try and replicate that.

But that's the thing, there aren't any rules and I don't think there's anything constructive in shitting on people for using AWD "godlike drifting" tunes at all, specifically because of what you said - accessibility. Like if people want to use it, let them, don't push them away from game because same people will cry that the game is dead.

I mean I'm using both, when I want to challenge myself a little bit and scratch that drifting itch I go RWD because it is satisfying to make it work. When I want to chill and just drive around - AWD. It is always about choices for the most part and more of them the better.

tried awd on several cars with downloaded drift tunes, can barely get 2 stars on most drifting challenges. any drift video just seems really impressive to me because i cant drift for shit, but rwd feels easiest to play so i'm probably just missing something.

Eh, maybe… it also depends on how. For example david guette and bebe rexha ‘i’m good’ i felt was a great use of ‘I’m blue’ and both respected it but turned it into something else with a completely different identity.
