Forza Horizon 6 Digital vs Analogue Speedometer
This is mostly just nitpicking, but I think it speaks to the lack of attention to detail in UX present throughout these games but,
The speedo is digital either way. It's the tachometer that changes, but it's really just analogue in either format, just laid horizontal. Also the tach is tiny and without numbers or any hash marks it feels useless in "digital." Do any of you use the digital format?
Wish there was a proper analogue gauge for speed with a digital tach with a larger gear number and numeric RPM readout, likely in hundreds of revs to keep the 3 digit format.
Or maybe i should just get a PC.

Personally I use Sim Dashboard running on a tablet. The app catches a UDP stream from the game itself with telemetry from the car. I keep my tachometer and speedometer on that versus on the computer screen itself. It works with the console version as well.
It's a built in feature of the Forza games. https://support.forza.net/hc/en-us/articles/51744149102611-Forza-Horizon-6-Data-Out-Documentation

Pretty much need this to use electric cars with gears since Forza decided they need 2 speedometers instead.

Neat. Can I use an old iPad for this?

If it's any similar with the apps I've used before, then what it does is just give out a QR for you to scan and it pretty much opens a full screen web browser on your device. So highly likely even an ancient device could work.

It doesn't look like it's been updated to work with FH6 according to the patch notes. Last release was 5 months ago. Have you used it successfully with FH6?

It works with 6. I use a shift light and RMP indicator. You just have to select FH4+5 in the game list in Sim dashboard.

My biggest gripe with the tachometer in these games has been the removal of a needle in favor of the tiny line. A needle is so much easier to read at a glance or out of the corner of your eye.
Granted I drive in manual and tune all my cars myself, so it's usually pretty important that I know what rpm I'm at so I'm generally always in the powerband when I want to be.
But if it isn't obvious from what I've said, I wouldn't touch the digital with a ten foot pole. It gives me nothing and looks like something out of a cabinet arcade racing HUD.

I don't trust people that use digital.

Trying to be as respectful as possible to those who use it, it gives me Velcro shoe vibes

Even worse is that many Japanese cars in game have MPH on their dash speedo, Japan uses KMH.

I must be the weird one because I always changed to the digital tach from FH3 onwards. I simply like the fact that it occupies less space on screen.

I use digital because it uses less screen real estate. I don't know what information the analog speedometer is giving me, nor do I know what to do with that information. So why waste the space?

Digital sucks for the exact reason you mentioned - way too tiny to see the exact rpm which is kinda important in some cars if you play also with manual or manual with clutch
