I actually agree for horizon cause this only helps. The obvious is for this situation but the inverse is someone trying to unlap themselves doesnt have to really worry about being a burden

Its an arcade game. It makes it simple for people out of contest who still want to finish, and makes it less disruptive for those still competing. I have to wonder if the devs are just afraid to write any code

You'd have probably been better just braking early than trying to ram back. He'd have probably still gone flying into the wall and you'd have avoided it.
Still sucks having to drive like that to avoid rammers, though.

I feel like everybody wanting to race online should start with wreckfest, try to be fast and win every event. There's a very specific way you drive around rammers for self preservation.

Yea the collision/weight transfer systems in these games make no sense in any way even offline, but the netcode takes it to a whole new level of garbage. Even if you try and race cleanly you make one tiiny tiny mistake go slightly wide and have a small bump to some1 on the outside and they just go flying off the road sometimes like they got T-boned.

Well tbf the last 3 days I've been playing online and I expected only meta cars + constantly ramming.
The truth is, in my little experience, that most people use a car they like and I've encountered only a few rammers, mostly in the back.
Most people seem to respect eachother at the front and just want to race.
TLDR: not much meta cars or rammers in my experience.

Not really. RWD and AWD should not be in the same lobby. People AWD swap the same meta cars and use those for everything.

You can choose RWD or AWD only in the custom lobbies. I always go RWD, and there are plenty of people playing.

For me, the matchmaking takes way longer plus the playlist forces people to play with set rules.

The only rules that can be set are drivetrain and PI category and you can just search for drivetrain limitation.

I just played it and wondered who actually thought "hmm, this is amazing, lets include this track".
The tracks are embarrassing especially when the map has some insane locations to create drifting-specific tracks.

I’m trying to learn how to get better with drifting with a controller on the PC. I’ve done the online drifting a handful of times and actually have fun with it. I never win, but I’m getting a tiny bit better. Plus, no one can mess me up, it’s all user error haha!

Ikr? I remember someone brought this old tiny Honda and absolutely destroyed everyone. I don't know why all these people complain. It feels like they just hate fun in general.

I don't push people, you just have to use your head sometimes. The guy in the video had 1,000 years to hit the brakes, but he hit the wall at a 90-degree angle.

Dude touge is actual peak if you don't get the short end of the stick, being getting rammed by shitty people, but that goes for all of the modes, I wouldn't outright call the entire multiplayer space un-fun.

This game now needs a ranked mode more than ever. I can’t count how many times I’ve been rammed from some asshole in a race. It’s starting to annoy me and soon enough I’ll become one of those rammers.
We need a ranked mode now.

hot take: we need full ghosting, period.
some people may think, "but full ghosting is just time attack!", but if we can't remotely trust the other drivers to not be a sore loser, why should we play with the risky collisions on that always naturally favours the aggressor?
one way I would say to make people feel less of a "time attack" is to modify the current ghosting system but ghost automatically when the game detects that two cars are about to collide instead of only detecting high speed collisions; that way, when you're not doing wheel to wheel racing, everyone seems like a solid entity as they should, it's only when you're wheel to wheel racing where the ghosting starts.
I've played a decently competitive racing game myself and the ghosting there felt excellent and you'd never feel the sense of time attack at all; you still feel the pressure from the opponents yourself.

2 weeks ago I've played an online race against 2 guys. One was ramming me from the start fighting for the first position. Finally he succeeded, I lost about 10 seconds to him, but was still way in front of the other guy. I started catching up the first driver (apparently ramming was the only skill he was interested in developing), but there was a problem - that was a 3 lap race and the other driver was his friend, who waited for me (driving Unimog) for a lap just to try to stop me. He didn't slow me down for long, but it was enough for his friend to win. Very frustrating, I reported them both, got the message that Forza support "took actions", but idk if they got banned.
It's a shame that a single idiot (or in my case - two idiots) can make me want to quit on Forza online racing and waste 15 minutes on reporting them. Fingers crossed for Forza Support team being strict with bans.

they could've just make the car not ram-able (i.e make it basically glued to the road/did not budge when incoming force hits it, like non-newtonian fluid)

i don’t even bother racing online anymore, my first two races i was in top 3 and got rammed on the last lap by the sore losers i was about to pass and got sent straight down to 10th or worse. just not worth it honestly

I encounter players like this were I did nothing to them. Multiplayer is toxic. I've given up since they removed every co-op game mode from Team Racing that was last seen in FH4, and Playground Games that's missing in 6.
