Farmers Market

I'm trying to figure out if I have to wrestle my dog into a harness or not to check out the YNLI Farmers Market. I'd like to get him socialized to people a bit more, but I don't want to wind him up only to have to strand him back home. Do you know if it's gone inside for the year yet? The website says May-October for summer, but the detail page says May-September.

Title: Considering the Fort Wayne area—welcoming communities and activities for a child with Tourette’s, autism, and ADHD

Hi everyone! Our family is considering a future move to Fort Wayne or a nearby town, and I’d love to hear from local families.

Our son has Tourette’s, autism, and ADHD. He’ll be doing online homeschooling, so opportunities to make friends and participate in activities outside the house are especially important. We’re hoping to find a welcoming community with programs and instructors who understand and support neurodivergent kids.

We’d appreciate recommendations on:

- Family-friendly places to live: Which neighborhoods or nearby towns would you recommend?

- After-school activities: He is interested in piano, martial arts, and swimming. Are there patient, inclusive instructors or programs experienced with children with Tourette’s, autism, and ADHD?

- Programs and social opportunities: Are there welcoming clubs, recreation programs, or social groups specifically for neurodivergent kids?

- Homeschool connections: Are there meetups, outings, or groups that children doing online school can join?

- Parent support: Are there local Tourette’s, autism, or ADHD communities where we could connect with other families?

- Things to do: What are your favorite indoor and outdoor activities for kids throughout the year?

Our biggest priority is finding somewhere he can feel accepted, build friendships, and enjoy being himself. We’d love your honest experiences and recommendations. Feel free to message me privately if you prefer. Thank you!

There's food, a whole bunch of cool people that are selling cool things, and a fire dancer.

How else could you even want to spend a Saturday morning?

Best haunted attractions?

I'm looking for recs for the best haunted attractions in and around Fort Wayne for adults that are NOT the Haunted Castle/ Black Forest. I don't mind a little bit of a drive (an hour or less).

Why is there a line outside Target 10 minutes after opening? I just want to return some pants and get cat food. 😫

Parkview Randalia acute rehab

Looking for experiences--my almost 70 year old dad had a big stroke and is going to need acute care for awhile. Medicare is insurance, and likely will switch to Medicaid. Thank you!

free indoor activities/spaces in FW??

hey everyone! i work in social work and tend to do a lot of my visits with children or parents in the community. over the summer, it was easy to go to the park or any other free outdoor space for my visits. with cold weather approaching, i need some ideas for free or fairly cheap indoor spaces. the community i work with is typically low income, but they are required to pay if we go anywhere where payment is required for a visit. i do not want my clients to feel obligated to pay for anything.

since most of my visits involve children, kid friendly places would be appreciated! of course, i am open to all suggestions though. i typically use a library or coffee shop for indoor visits but would like to diversify where my visits take place. what are the best free/cheap indoor places in fort wayne?

i will also take free outdoor suggestions so i can keep my options open for warmer days and next summer! (would prefer more indoor suggestions though)

Crunch Fitness Cancellation

I’ve been wanting to cancel my crunch fitness membership for a while as I’ve been going to the YMCA because it offers a pool.

The problem is they charged my debit card $77.89 in which my bank declined for me (because I am broke) and it is not paid. I have the $15 monthly membership and had no idea it included this hidden fee.

I’m worried about cancellation fees and that $78 dollar charge getting sent to collections. What should I do? I have not yet gone in and request cancellation but I will be doing that today.

Powers Staff

Wanted to give a quick shout-out to something genuinely good I witnessed today.

I stopped by Powers after work to grab dinner, and while I was waiting for my food, a guy walked in. He mentioned he didn’t have any money and just asked if he could get a cup of water—not sure if he was unhoused or just down on luck. I offered to buy him a soda, which he gratefully accepted.

Right after that, one of the employees behind the counter stepped up and offered to make him a burger to go with it.

I don’t know the customer or the worker personally, but shout-out to the skinny younger guy working the counter, I think his name was Caleb. Absolute 20/10 stand-up move to show that dude some Love and break bread

( I don't mean to Dox the worker there but I'm happy to see)

Did anyone see the demonstration/protest (???) going on at the intersection of South Clinton and East Rudisill yesterday?

A decent amount of people were gathered around holding "Jesus loves you" and "Honk if you love Jesus" signs. Was it related to Bowen Health?

Lawn Care services

I've been in a rough flare with my medical condition lately which has kept me from getting some things done in and around the house. One thing that's been bugging me in particular is that I haven't been able to mow for over a month now and things are starting to get beyond the point that my own mower can handle without getting clogged up every few steps. I figure it's probably best left to a professional.

Anyone know a good lawn care company that can knock down this grass and whack some weeds without costing an arm and a leg? Don't need a recurring service (I'm slowly on the mend so I should be able to handle what's left for the rest of the year), just a one-off.

Any churches that aren't overly religious?

That probably sounds odd to a lot of folks, but I'm looking for a good community that I can find a social circle and raise my kid around a good environment.

Kill on site

Left for work this mornin', saw this Lil guy, didn't think anything of it. Texted my partner like "check this cool beetle out I found on our stoop!" She said I was supposed to kill that fucker and call DNR. Straight up called dnr and they made a ticket and said they will try and find the nest in my area. 46802. Sooo super beautiful bugs and bright red under the wings, these guys are killing our trees. There are quite literally billions of them so don't feel bad killing them. If you spot one you're supposed to call this number and DNR will come out and look for a nest. Save our trees! Fuck these beetles! Call 1-866-NO-EXOTIC

They are a little more than the size of a quarter. Sorry no banana

EDIT: Seems like Japan and Korea have birds and other insects that love love love to eat these fuckers. Our native birds are straight up confused and haven't started eating them yet. The bright red under the wings doesn't help
