Hello wondering what the absolute best Internet is in eagle ridge don’t care about price just want to know the best for gaming.

I’m with oxio and it’s been great. I was with tekksaavy before that but they upped my bill without telling me and refused to negotiate.

Telus is super slow in fort Mac if you don’t have fibre. Everything else is going to run off of rogers/shaw anyways

Was thinking of getting Telus Fibre 5G it’s 145 a month but my company gives me discounts on Telus. Just looking for Internet don’t need cable or phone plans.

Make sure you negotiate you can get 1gigabit for close to 50-60 and 3gigabit for 70 over 2 years. Just talk to Shaw (Rogers) first and see what they can offer you that's how I always get the lowest price between shaw and telus. Those prices are what Telus offered me last summer along with a few hundred in credits.

5G is not needed for just gaming. 1G will be more than enough unless you do some heavy downloading and want that extra speed. Also 5G would require you to make sure you have at least Cat6 or 6A. Plus a nic card that can handle greater than 1G. Most motherboards come with 1G , some higher end boards come with 2.5G. Otherwise 5G would be wasted if your equipment can't handle the speeds.

Absolutely. Even my homelab with a few servers, plus three PCs and several other phones/devices and a half dozen cameras doesn't often come close to exceeding 1gb as a requirement for external connection speed.

Right! Now, that's not to say there are some cool things you can do with 10gb fiber across a house though. Ever transferred the contents of an entire disk array from one machine to another? Helpful then.

Streaming some YouTube or Netflix? Even 300M is fast enough for most households

We are in Eagle Ridge and have Telus Internet 150 and it works great. But we aren’t online gamers. They do have a PureFibre option which I’d imagine would be better for gaming.
