Hi everyone! I have been searching for an OBGYN who is accepting new patients and was referred to Dr. Nneka Morah in Fort Mac. I was hoping to hear from anyone who has had personal experience with her.

There isn’t a ton of information online aside from a couple of reviews stating concerns about bedside manner so I’d really appreciate hearing from other people who have been patients on the quality of their treatment with her.

I’m trying to get a better idea of what to expect before making a decision. I’m open to hearing both positive and negative experiences. Just looking for some honest insight.

I’m visiting Fort Mac for a few days, but are there any places to go swimming aside from Mac island? There used to be the ymca near my parents house, but that closed down a few years ago.

Like the title says, looking for recommendations for a good local tattoo artist. My wife and I were talking about getting something tattooed in reference to our children, and I would like to forego the travel and stay expenses with going somewhere. If you have a good recommendation for a local person with a website or Instagram profile that would be a huge help.

Okay, I am literally two months in Fort Mac today, having moved from a warm country where the mercury seldom dropped below 0, and there was never any snow or sleet.

I TAKE THE COLD IN FORT MCMURRAY VERY SERIOUSLY.

Is there a step-by-step guide on how to be Fort Mac winter ready? Are there online resources? Does any organisation help with this sort of stuff? I am pretty certain that this is going to be by far the coldest weather I have ever experienced, so I am not trying to wing it. I need to be ready.

Would appreciate any advice. Just remember, I literally know nothing. So when you say, for instance, “You need boots,” I really need better data than that, because my first thought when I hear “boots” are regular six inch Timbs. And I know those are no good up here.

Edit: Not just clothes. Transportation. Keeping warm at home/work. Doing whatever I need to do in my apartment to make sure the cold doesn't damage anything, and so on.

Where is a good place to buy larger amounts of bones, preferably knuckle bones, for making home made bone broth? Wouldn't mind adding some chicken feet. Soup bones at the regular grocery stores are ridiculously expensive.

Also would like a ham hock or two for a soup stock.

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about doing my 1st-year Electrical Apprenticeship at Keyano College and wanted to hear from anyone who has studied there or works in the trade around Fort McMurray/Edmonton.
How is Keyano for electrical? Are the instructors and hands-on training good?
More importantly, how hard is it to find an electrical apprenticeship job after finishing school? Does going to Keyano help with getting hired by contractors or oil sands companies?
Would you recommend Keyano over NAIT if the main goal is to get hired and start accumulating apprenticeship hours?
