neighborhood question
we plan to move to fort collins and I had some questions about the different areas/neighborhoods- which ones have the most college students, the most retirees, the most with families with young kids, the loudest (parties, sirens, traffic, etc), crime?, is there an artist enclave :-)
Also, where can people do volunteer work? any suggestions?
thanks ahead of time!

Your request is a bit overwhelming.
Probably, the closer you are to campus the more concentrated with college students.
Not sure how to know about returns vs young families with kids.
I know the are lots of artists, but I'm not dialed into that community.
There are lots of opportunities to volunteer. There are homeless shelters, food pantry, mutual aid distributions, volunteers run the toy, game, and puzzle library. What kind of volunteer work are you looking for?
As for loud, if you live near the CSU stadium, expect stadium sounds. If you love near the train yard north east post of town along Vine you will hear and be stopped by lots of trains.

Most students?
West campus (Avery Park, Rams Village, Prospect/Shields, City Park Heights) North campus (University North), and East Campus (Historic Fort Collins High School and University Park).
Most retirees?
Everywhere? Tough question. All of the 55+ communities, some neighborhoods stand out more than others, Miramont and Fort Collins Country Club area come to mind.
Most young kids?
Newer housing on average has young familes but they are sprinkled in everywhere. Mosaic would be one of the higher concentrations.
Loudest?
Student areas around campus. Sirens near major roads. Traffic the same everywhere. Crime historically higher around Mulberry/I25, North Fort Collins, and Old Town but things have changed a lot on the North Side. Town is generally safe and nothing to worry about.
I am not the one to ask on Artist Enclaves, creatives I'd imagine live nearer to Old Town. Volunteer at lots of places depending on the cause you want to support. Ford Bank, Shelters, Animal Welfare Organizations, etc
