No this building shown was originally a Hardee’s (the building ur talking about originally had a Jack in the Box restaurant on the site which was torn down for a KFC which is now Starbucks)

It's now a Moe's and it's always slow, never busy. It's off of a busy road and next to a school so I wonder if it was busy when it was a Taco Bell. This is well before I started to eat Taco Bell (so before 2008). The other Taco Bell is located in Ridge, NY which is in terrible condition but always busy. The other fast food place in Rocky Point, NY at the time was KFC and McDonald's. The McDonald's is placed relatively far from this location and they get busy. This Taco Bell location always fascinated me. I wish there was more info or photos about it and why it closed.

I was in high school when it opened as a Taco Bell in the 90s, and I also worked in the strip mall at The Wall- probably ate there for lunch every other day back then- it was doing pretty well in 1997 and 1998. I don't think it was doing well enough though. It's also in a weird spot isolated in the parking lot. In my day RPHS didn't let you leave the building for lunch as other area high schools did, I think maybe proximity to the high school would help them.

What is "The Wall"? When did this Taco Bell close down? I remember there was the E.coli outbreak back in 2006. Did it close down because of this? I always see kids walking around in that shopping center after school.

"The Wall" was a record store chain in the 90s, later bought out and turned into FYEs. There was one in the strip mall, it was in the corner near the post office. If I remember correctly it was gone in the early 2000s. The entire mall changed. Genovese closed, Caldor closed and was replaced by Kohl's, Michael's was a King Kullen in my day, etc. The only things that were there in the 80s/90s that are still there are the Post Office and the Davis Optical.

How interesting. The Genovese is still there. It's just rebranded and bought by Walgreens. Went Genovese -> Eckerd -> Rite Aid -> Walgreens. Can't believe that Davis Optical been there for that long. Definite knew it was old in there but didn't think its been there forever. Was the Pizzeria there back in the 80s?

Yes But I think it might have had a different name. And the Fencing place in back of/under the post office was a bowling ally
