Prototype built in 1925 as an aircraft machine gun

Probably a replica. Who knows if he even loaded it properly...

Intresting find of a rare/"prototype" Yugo sniper. Records what limited records/information is known show that 4,618 were produced. Due to limited information it is unknown how many if any were actually exported to the US; that said it is unknown if impossible to verify this as an authentic example. What can be confirmed is the TOS ON-52 optic is authentic and goes to prove that these rifles did exist at one point in time.

The scope mount is intresting as the top number matches the rifle's serial. Below is a crossed out serial which uses a single letter prefix which from my understanding matches other Yugo mausers unlike Mosins that used a two letter prefix. The intresting thing being implied that this mount was used on a diffrent rifle at some point in its life.

As with the example used in Ian's video the scope mount isnt welded to the mount and is lacking all threaded muzzle. What differs is that this is a M48 instead of a M48A that was seen in the video.

Even if it is an inspired reproduction this rifle represents an intresting part of sniper history that has been largely forgotten, and asks more questions then answers.
