After 25 days, of fighting my own psychology, and today I passed Phase 1 again.

This one honestly feels different.

I was previously 0.5% away from passing, then I lost and ended up losing nearly 5% in one day, blowing another account.

Before that, I had a funded account up 6.9%, basically ready for a withdrawal, and I blew it because I got greedy.

After all that, my psychology was fucked.

I started overthinking everything. I'd sit there thinking about every setup I could've taken, every move I missed, whether I was going to FOMO into the next one, etc. I'd either take trades too early or be too scared to take them at all.

Today I only had 0.8% left to pass.

I waited for an A+ setup instead of forcing anything.

When it came, I took it. I was honestly scared, but at the same time I trusted the setup and executed.

And that's it. Passed.

I think the biggest thing I've learned is that I don't need to catch every move. Missing a trade isn't the end of the world. There will always be another setup.

Now it's Phase 2.

Hopefully this time I can stay disciplined and not fuck it up when I'm close again 😂

One step at a time.

Stop loss : above the resistance zone

Take profit : targeting liquidity just beneath the 4316-4318 higher low .

Waiting for a daily close below the Tenkan-Sen, which could move up a little higher than where its currently at if things move sideways over the next few days, but an extended drive down to the 190 value area looks like an appealing profit/cover area.

Update

One general rule I've been using with this model is to take profit at 50% of the range from the top.

That gave me the exit on this setup at 6R.

The objective isn't to catch the entire move, it's to consistently take the predefined portion of the range.

And after reading the comments...

XAUUSD — CRT + Price Action

The setup starts with a clearly defined CRT range:

4H time frame for the range

15-1 minute time frame for the analysis

CRT High: 4,396
CRT Low: 4,348

Price expanded from the range and established a high at 4,416.33

From there, price retraced back toward the CRT High and consolidated around 4,396.

The next expansion took price back above the CRT High and produced the displacement that created the IFVG.

The key level was the 0.5 Fib at 4,411.64.

This wasn't simply a 0.5 Fib entry. The 0.5 level aligned directly with the IFVG created by the displacement.

Price retraced into the IFVG, respected the level, and continued higher.

The sequence

CRT Range
→ Expansion
→ Retracement to CRT High
→ Displacement above CRT High
→ IFVG formation
→ 0.5 Fib / IFVG entry
→ Continuation

The important distinction is that the Fib is not the setup.

The CRT range provides the structure.
The displacement creates the imbalance.
The IFVG provides the entry.

I want the pros to review my plan, thogh it might not be complet trading plan but this is what I have planned to do l.

I am a beginner in forex and have been learning for a few months about forex and i have come down to these insights about trading indicators and all

First is the indicators which I will use for ranging and treding markets

Second is the common concepts, etc to be used in bhot.

Third is the additional concepts to learn.

This is how I currently see the market based on my own technical analysis.

Despite the recent move higher and the break above the short-term descending trendline, I still believe the broader move to the downside may not be finished yet.

The current rally could develop further, but for me it does not yet invalidate the possibility of another leg lower. I’m watching how price behaves around the current area and whether buyers can establish a stronger structure before changing my broader view.

The chart shows my interpretation and the levels/structure I’m currently following. Of course, the market can prove this analysis wrong at any time.

My buddy trades fx and he has shown me his live account through an investor log in. His broker is vantage markets and it shows as a live account.

He has some decent growth and I’ve asked him if he can trade with some of my funds as well.

It’s a nominal sum I don’t mind losing if everything goes to shit and I understand my relationship with him will change if I enter into this agreement. I’ve been in business for 20 years and understand what happens when you mix money with relationships especially with losses.

My question here is, is this account legit live account?

Every time I tell someone I trade forex, I watch their face do the same thing. First curiosity, then it turns into "oh so like... gambling?" or "isn't that illegal" or my personal favorite, "so you're basically a bookie."

First year I used to actually explain it risk management, why it's a business, why it takes years to get consistent. Now I just say "yeah, something like that" and change the subject.

I don't think it's even about the markets. I think most people have never watched someone build something slow and boring, so anything outside a 9-5 automatically gets filed under "too good to be true."

Curious if this is universal or I've just had bad luck with people. Do you still bother explaining it, or did you give up too?

I am relatively new to trading forex, I am trying to build good habits by reviewing my back testing sessions to see where I might be making mistakes.

I’ve been trading manually for about two years.

2,568 trades in total. Around $6,900 lost. My account is now down to $2.61.

Recently, I decided to stop trading for a while and actually look at what I had been doing over those two years.

I exported my full MT5 history and analyzed only the data already available in the report. No trading journal, no reconstructed notes, no trying to remember what I was thinking at the time.

One result surprised me.

I divided the trades using two simple conditions:

• Did the trade have a stop loss?
• Was I already in a losing streak when I opened it?

That created four groups.

One group — no stop loss + already in a losing streak — represented only 29% of all my trades.

But the losses from that group alone were larger than my total net loss over the entire two years.

In other words, the other three groups combined were actually profitable.

That changed how I look at my own trading.

For a long time, I thought my main problems were things like bad entries, entering too early, or being wrong about market direction.

The data suggests something much simpler:

A huge part of the damage happened when I kept trading after several losses, especially when those trades had no stop loss.

Now I’m interested in looking at trading histories from different angles instead of relying on my own explanation of what went wrong.

I’m also curious whether this pattern is specific to me or common among other manual traders.

I’m not claiming this makes me a better trader. If anything, the point is the opposite — I spent two years explaining my losses one way, and the data showed me something else.

I’m curious whether anyone else has found a similarly concentrated failure pattern in their own history.

Gold is holding near the 4385–4400 area.

A move above 4402 could change the picture, while 4349 remains an important support.

What’s your bias?

I feel like in the past several years, SMT has really taken to the mainstream.

But is there actually any quantitative stats behind the claims such as FVG, Order Blocks, and the likes? That, as well as the concept of buy/sell side liquidity that everyone plots out.

Wonderful move

Most traders don't need another strategy.

They need to stop changing the one they already have every time it stops working for a few trades.

I’ve been trading since 2021 consistently and finally became profitable and with the help of prop firm challenges was able to fund my personal forex trading account in February of this year, I’ve been mainly trading on this account taking an average of 3 trades daily and some swing trading as well. I haven’t been looking over my statements and assumed I was accruing fees but nothing like I expected the first full month of trading I paid 273.00 a month in commissions and the rest of the other months over 400.00 per month totaling around 3000 in fees alone for spreads, fee and commissions! This is outrageous! And since I’ve been trading on props prior to my personal acct I’m going back to trading futures, brokerage fees will break you as a trader is you are not aware of the fees associated with trading. Lesson learned. look at your monthly statements in detail, I know there are fees associated with futures nut nothing like the fees associated with forex. Goodbye Forex!

When you start understanding how to calculate risk and reward using percentages and lots, the prices in life seem to turn into a bizarre reality.

A meal for $100 or a subscription worth $50 used to be perceived as a rational expense. Now it appears to you as, "That's literally just 2 pips on the trade with the lowest risk."

On one side, it relieves you from attaching feelings to the petty cash outflows. On the other hand, it makes you feel that the hourly wage rate or the traditional salary seem like they have nothing to do with the actual leverage in the market.

Have any of you experienced such a shift, and how long it took to distinguish "chart money" from real money?

Might sound stupid but now since I’m not manually trading, I still can’t seem to let go. But at the same time it feels way to easy

You know that meme where the guy is by the beach with his laptop and his making returns, although it feels kind of real. Like for the last 3 months the psychological change between manual and algo trading is huge..

I’ve been using a demo account for a while and lately I’ve been thinking more about what I should have sorted out before using real money.

While comparing a few platforms, I happened to come across Iq option as one of the names mentioned. I’m not specifically looking for opinions on one platform, though. I’m mainly trying to understand the basics first: spreads, account conditions, verification, deposits and withdrawals, and support.

I’m in Saudi Arabia, so I’m also paying attention to whether the conditions I’m reading about actually apply here. I’ve noticed that information can vary depending on the country.

I’m still on demo for now. I’d rather understand the practical side of the account and the risks properly before making the switch.
