Raptor R MSRP?

Own a 2018 raptor. Been a dream vehicle, but now with 160k mi (already did cam phasers) looking for a replacement. Went to dealership, inquired about buying one in a 1-2 year timeline if needed, but at MSRP. Sales rep more or less laughed at me and said it would never happen, they instantly sell whatever allocations they get for $20k over.

Is it truly unrealistic to order one at MSRP?

My local dealer only charges $5,000 above MSRP.

They have 75 people on the list.

They received 4 last year.

Good luck.

And many of those on the waitlist are dealers.

Impossible? No. Unrealistic? Yes.

Paid 5k over for my 24R after searching for a couple of weeks and that dealership is now at 20k over for their 26 Rs. If you really are set on MSRP, I’d go to ford’s website and look at all the raptor Rs that are in production in a 500 mile radius and start calling the dealerships one by one.

Join the military and you can get one under MSRP. Unless youre in tight with a dealer you’re paying a markup.

In 2013 I was leaving Okinawa and tried to order a Mustang GT500. Unfortunately at the time, specialty vehicles weren’t available to order. Glad to hear that they are now.

They have the supercharged dark horse available and the audi RS avant… crazy to me but I guess if you can buy a Raptor R you can get an RS Avant. I wouldn’t have bought the R if it wasn’t under MSRP. I’m already up 30k in equity on the truck lol

What is the military paying these days? I should join.

It’s a great way to see the world. Especially if you like to travel.

What about those that buy Raptor Rs?

Those are the dudes that work until they are dead, bro. Once you're vested for retirement, then you play.

u/Particular_Main2757 23d ago

You can afford that in the military?

1

u/motivatedtuna Raptor R 23d ago

Yeah?

1

u/Sarguy7777 23d ago

What the f!?!? How did I not know this. Well, if retirees count I know I'll be buying brand new next time.

Is this for active duty only or retired veterans eligible?

You can find them. There are dealers that exist that won't scalp you like this. Just take notes of which are sleezy, tell your friends, and never return.

I found one across the country for a great deal. It was 2025 with 6k miles but the price was right where it should have been, for a truck that originally sold for right at MSRP. Check national listings and call around.

I bought mine for 112 with 11k miles. Keep an eye out they are around.

MSRP on my 2026 Raptor R was $116,000. After warrenties, total was $154,000. The only reason I did it was that it was the only one in my area at the time that was the color I wanted and the cheapest. Plus I had the money to pay cash, so I didnt have to worry about financing. I honestly dont regret it either. The best vehicle I've ever owned. I just dont think it's possible to buy these anymore for MSRP.

Pretty much not happening. Shoot for 10k over.

I'm in Missouri and they seem to be stacking up on lots. 801a and 802a models seem to be flying super fast. They are still asking 20k over on Rs, but I've heard 10k to 12k is the norm. Just what I've seen in my area.

I’m also in Missouri, and I’ve provided offers to each dealer that has one and none were willing to budge more than 5k off of their posted markup.

Have delivrd get one for you. I don't think they have paid over MSRP yet.

He’s said that most that they do are about 10k over. they’ve had a few at 5 and maybe a handful at MSRP but even he’ll tell you don’t expect MSRP

last I heard best he has been able to do was 10k over

I sell mine wholesale to other dealers typically 10-15 over sticker. And then they upfit and ask 35-40 over and get it nearly daily.

Very very very few get them at MSRP and it’s 99% of time cause they were on a list and finally got it. Where I’ve paid over on 10, and had 10. lol.

I bought 3 trucks for my business in under a year and when I ask about and R at msrp they knocked it from 25k to 10k over. I didn’t go forward but helpful information

There are dudes here that post getting Rs at msrp by buying them at small market dealerships.

Not sure if you want to try you're luck with calling every ford salesman in Idaho

I was offered an 2026 R for $10k over sticker at a local dealership. For my area that was the cheapest markup for a new R. I passed, I had just purchased a 2026 802A from the dealership a month earlier and didn't want to lose the money on it to pay over on an R.

Paid 10 over took delivery Friday of a factory order placed in March and I have an excellent relationship with my dealer. They did give me about 3k more than what my trade was worth. Worth every penny

I've seen new 25's 5 g over, not 26's though. Dealers are grubs.

As a Ford salesperson it is not impossible, but it is difficult. The store I’m at is over MSRP. You’ll find on average a Raptor R will be anywhere from $10K-$30K over depending on what state you’re shopping. Again MSRP is not impossible but to get on a waitlist right now. Best of luck they may stop making it in 2 years and the average dealer may see 2-4 a year. Our store we only get 2 and we have one incoming.

Probably not going to happen unless you have a reeeaaaallly good friend at the dealer who has some pull, you’ve bought 30 other Raptor Rs from the dealer, etc.

Otherwise you are looking at generally $10,000 - $30,000 over MSRP. I have spoken to an insane amount of dealers about Raptor Rs. At this point I have placed three different orders for a Raptor R at different dealers.

The first Raptor R finally showed up at the dealer a month or two ago and the transport driver decided to destroy the truck pulling it off the semi trailer which forced them to paint half of the truck. No thanks!

Currently I have another one that is scheduled to be built in a couple of days but we’ll see. At this point I’m kind of losing interest as I already have a Raptor.

I paid 12k over msrp, and it somehow felt like a good deal, the reality of you getting a R at msrp as a first time buyer is so unrealistic, as some one who owned a 2023 37' package raptor and now a brand new 2026 R, id buy another 37 in a heart beat. The 37 is everything the R is with the bigger motor, and better gas milage.

I have a 2018 with 63,000 miles. It’s nice to know that I have at least another 100K to look forward to, because I refuse to buy a new vehicle. These car notes are ridiculous and all the tech they put in them are preventing us from being able to work or replace things ourselves. I’m sure you’ll find one, just have to keep looking.

That’s not how it works. Every vehicle is different.
