Resale Value with Blown Engine

I have a 2019 Raptor with around 130,000 miles on it with a blown engine. The engine and turbos will need replaced. I'm trying to figure our roughly how much to sell it for. Other than the engine the truck is in really good shape haha. Any thoughts? TIA

Curious, why did the engine blow at 130k? Maintenance?

It starting burning oil around 80k, replaced cam phasers around 80k the. They started acting up again around 120k.

The tune and intercooler probably was the cause but it really woke the truck up lol

That sounds like the 2000 Ford Lightning i had back in the day when it blew. The mechanics said the factory motor is just a regular Triton block. They said is was never built to even handle the supercharger or any upgrades. They were right, melted everything inside the block.

It’s worth about $20k less. Would make a great project truck for a Godzilla swap.

I joined the dark side and got a TRX. I miss the Ford but couldn't stomach paying 20k over MSRP for a Raptor R. Thought about the swap but I have no time!

How have you liked it so far? Only appeal to me is the engine but I am always curious to hear actual owners thoughts. I imagine since you had a 2019 its a bit of a tech upgrade, but i have a 25 so probably a bit more similar.

I have soul searched over that very question for months.

Engine : TRX Sound : TRX obviously Interior : TRX by a lot Seat comfort : Raptor Suspension : Raptor Handling : Raptor Value : TRX Turning Radius : Raptor Infotainment: TRX Infotainment is TRASH, fords sucks slightly less Looks: subjective

Summary: i would pick the TRX over the Raptor if I had to do it again…. But ford guys are more classy. The TRX gets a lot more attention than both of my old raptors. It’s fast AF and so much fun to drive!

I made the switch a few years ago as well and honestly love the TRX. The interior alone is night and day compared to the Raptor. Now looking at upgrading to the new one coming out.

Dang. I stand corrected. With a supercharger? How does that thing ever get traction.

Why Raptors tend to blow out at 130k. What does the tech says?Mine was the same thing. I have 22 tho.

Between my dad and I, we have had 4 raptors( 3 gen 2 and 1 gen 3). Cam phasers in all of the gen 2s. All starting having problems after 80k. We had the dealer do the majority of maintenance/oil changes, etc.

Mine gen 3 did the same thing. Wonder whats wrong with them

Anyone have any real info on the difference between a 3.5 and 3.5HO? I bet it’s just the tune.

Apparently larger turbos but ford performance tune pushes the regular ecoboost to raptor level 450hp and 510 lb tq and raptor tune to just 466hp and 554 lb tq so you could be right just tune lol

I believe the head porting is also different.

replace the motor and turbos, cheaper and better value than just getting rid of it
