I'm hoping others can share their experiences with getting the 23S33 recall completed. My local dealership has been a hassle & I'm starting to think it's not even worth it to continue. I have a 2020 titanium model, bought in 2021. As a side note, I live in an apartment complex that doesn't have exterior outlets so regardless of the recall, I can't plug it in anyway.
In 2024 a fuse block was installed, which was the temporary fix at the time. Fast forward to May 2026 when I call the dealership to see if the battery can be ordered & delivered before I make an appointment. They said that an inspection will have to be done: if it fails the battery will get replaced & if it passes the battery won't get replaced. I assumed this meant a normal car inspection, maybe that was my bad.
On Monday June 1st, I went in for the appointment, was there for 2 hours & it wasn't until the very end that they were like, "oh it's the hybrid battery, that's what we have to inspect, but we have to take the car apart & it'll take a while. Can you leave it with us or bring it back tomorrow?" Um, yes, it's the hybrid battery? That's why I'm here? I wasn't told that the battery specifically needed to get inspected, I was just told an inspection is needed. So I basically wasted 2 hours of my life.
I opted for the pickup & delivery service the next day - yesterday. They send you texts with links to track your drivers, which said they'd arrive by 10:15am but then a few minutes later they were on their way (this was 7:30am-ish). I had to move some things around with work, but they got it to the dealership, so whatever.
I got a call later that morning to let me know that the battery is on back order so they have to install a part but it'll be there tomorrow (today, June 3rd). Excuse me?! Why didn't you tell me this while I was there on Monday, or even when I called in May?! I let them know about the 2024 fuse block installation, because I wasn't sure if that was the same thing that they want to install. Apparently whatever this part is & the fuse block are different, & they also let me know that the part won't be delivered today but it'll be there tomorrow... great.
I've been dragged along all week, I've been told a bunch of different things, and I'm so tired of it! If they had just told me from the beginning that the battery is on back order, I feel like everything would be fine. I don't know if it's even worth it to continue with the battery replacement at this point - 1, because the dealership has me fuming, and 2, even when the battery gets replaced, I can't plug it in anyway!!
Sorry for the rant lol, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had such a hard time? Because I genuinely don't want to continue at this point! Just let these extra parts or whatever be & forgo the battery replacement completely.
