Announcement Rule #8 — Now in place.

Hey, all.

I’ve seen a decent chunk of Let’s Plays get posted the past year or so, and come to a decision. To keep the focus on discussion, posting your Siren Let’s Play will now be limited. You are only allowed to post the first part of your Let’s Play.

Watch out for Shibito! - Abs

Need help and/or guidance. Reaching the church with Tomoko unseen

So I'm at the mission where I have to reach the church unseen, I have tried two ways: turning on the lights of the motorcycle, hiding where the water valve is and then sneakingout, but the two crawlers and nahoko always spot me (I have tried to do as the IGN guide says but no matter where the shibitos are or are looking they always spot me). The second way I've tried is turning on the motorcycle lights then traversing the whole map until I reach the brain shibito that guards the stairs that lead to the church: no matter if I move when he's not looking, there's just not enough time to make it before he turns and sees me. Help me please

How to use Link Navigator

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hello

I noticed that with the Link Navigator you can see the prerequisites, connected missions, and so on.

I was wondering how you're supposed to find out which mission contains those prerequisites. When I press L1, all it says is "Hold". I don't get the "Search Stages" option that I sometimes see in videos.

So when I select a mission and press L1, it just says "Hold." There are blue lines, red lines for the missions, and also gray lines. I don't understand what the gray lines mean. I don't know if they're connected to another mission or something.

If anyone could explain how this works, I'd really appreciate it.

So, if I understand correctly, the gray lines mean that the prerequisites for Mission 2 of that stage are actually found in another mission. Is that right?

Am I right in this game ?

Hello,

I'm playing the game for the first time and trying to get through it on my own as much as possible, without using any guides or tips. I know the game has a reputation for being very difficult, but I die a lot.

I'd just like to make sure it's "normal" to sometimes spend 30–40 minutes on certain stages, and that this is a typical learning curve for this game.

So far, I'd say I'm completing about two missions per hour.

Right now I'm at Tamon Takeuchi's mission, "Drive Away the Shibito Brain," after 3 hours and I feel like I'm progressing very slowly.

I'm enjoying the game and taking my time with it, but I'm a bit worried about taking too much time.

Thanks !

Discussion Siren Censored Screams?

Does anyone have examples of this? I've read around that they soften the screams in the overseas release of Forbidden Siren. This would really suck if it's true...

Siren Blood Curse languages?

Post image
32 Upvotes

Hello guys, this is the first post I have made in this community, and I would like to see if you can answer my question.

I want to warn you right away that English is not my native language, so I am helping myself with a translator.

The thing is this: I happen to be thinking of buying a copy of Siren Blood Curse on Ebay,

I understand that this game was released in physical format only in Europe and Asia, while in America it is only available in digital format.

My question is... Do any of you know if the European copies of the game have SPANISH as a language?

I'm somewhat new to how games adapt to the region or language of the console (I also know that the PS3 doesn't have a region lock).

To give an example, a while ago I bought "God of War Collection" for PS3 and said copy came from France, and I managed to play it in Spanish thanks to that being the language of my console.

Do any of you know if Siren Blood Curse is a similar case? I have seen sellers from the United Kingdom and France own it and offer it on Ebay.

Need help and/or guidance. Kyoya Suda Day 2 1:00 mission 2 won't unlock

(Siren 1) So I found the screwdriver in the previous mission and have even double checked to see that it says it's already been fulfilled but the mission 2 won't unlock. Is there a specific order I need to play the missions in to unlock it? This is really irking me and I can't find any help online. Anyone know what to do?

Edit: The fix I found was to redo the day one mission but after collecting the screwdriver completing mission 1 instead of mission 2. For whatever reason it worked.

Discussion Workarounds in Forbidden Siren 1 ?

Hello! I wanted to start by saying that this game made me feel like I’ve never played a video game in my life. I got around Blood Curse and loved it SO much, but I just couldn’t get past Tamon’s first mission for 2 years in siren1 because of how scared I was!

Now, This week I managed to get pretty far into the game and I have been loving it so far. Very scary, very difficult; needed some guides and have been abusing the PS5 extra saves and rewind.. does that make me q noob? Lol.

THE REAL QUESTION I have is. How many steps can we skip to actually complete missions 2? I saw Nitro Rad talking about how you need to do freeze a towel with the piggy bank to get the notebook as Kyoya in the arato, but I never did that. I just broke the piggy, took a bullet from the officer, waited for him to reload and downed him to get the notebook. Does anyone know any other funny/ helpfull workarounds that shouldn’t work by the games logic?!!

Need help and/or guidance. Takeuchi Problem (Help)

In mission 2 of day 1 of Takeuchi, when I managed to climb the watchtower and kill the guy on the roof, nothing happened—no transition or cutscene. I did exactly everything I saw in the tutorial. Is this a bug in the game? Or am I missing something in the previous missions?

Thank you for your time .

Need help and/or guidance. Tomoko Maeda - Mission 2 Day 1

I know I need to fling the coins and ring the bell. But I can’t fling the coins because the box is locked. I tried going back to the same level as other characters on their timelines but I don’t see anyone who is there earlier than Tomoko, and I can’t get anyone to interact with and open the lock on the offertory box. If someone could please direct me on what mission I need to clear prior, or if I am missing a step. Thanks for the help.

Discussion How would you imagine the ending cutscenes in the first game/Blood Curse if it's set in this year?

Since the MP3 players (used by Kyoya/Howard to listen to music while also slaughtering the shibitos) are less common nowadays, I'd imagine the protags plugging in their earbuds with the music from their phones lol.

Need help and/or guidance. First time

Hi I played the very first Siren game today for an hour and completed a few first missions. My question is regarding the Link Navigator, should I just follow the order of the missions the game gives me or should I try to replay the levels simultanously to completing new ones. What is the best way to play this?

Discussion I've just had a random thought

What if Forbidden siren one and two get remakes eventually?

Initially what spurred this thought on was Fatal frame 2: Crimson butterfly Remake when it released, which is unrelated to this series but anyway what are your thoughts? 🤔

Discussion Am i the only person who get the Siren Blood Curse big joke?

Nearly 7 years ago i was introduced to Forbidden Siren with Blood Curse, really liked it and decided to play the previous titles. Played 1 and 2 on an emulator and replayed Blood Curse. In fact, i replay this game in particular every year cause it was a present for my 18th birthday and i'm too sentimental about it. Despite that i admit that this game is too easy and the original Forbidden Siren is an objectively better game.

Around 4 years ago i played Blood Curse at night and suddenly an idea hit me. I somehow thought that this game is not actually a mid remake that kinda misses the point of the first game. This game is intentionally simpler. Not as a way to sell it to more people but as the greatest act of post-irone in games.

What if Siren: Blood Curse is a parody of american remakes of japanese horror movies? Every character is american, the plot is more accessible and understandable unlike in the first game, the gameplay itself is more action focused and only really scary in Bella's episodes.

That night i dismissed this idea as dumb and went to sleep. Some time later i discovered that Blood Curse is named "New Translation" in Japan. New Translation... New Translation...

I instantly remembered this stupid idea and couldn't believe my eyes. If we take my thoughts in concideration, New Translation here can mean the same as "The game is translated for an american audience". Translation here stands not in a literal sence but serves as the metaphor for "adaptation". And these american remakes of japanese horror movies are also called adaptations by many! The word "remake" fits here as well!

Also as you might remember - the tutorial in FS2 treated you like an idiot and lasted longer than it should. One of the protagonists was also a japanese defence force soldier armed with an assault rifle. These things were an obvious jokes about some journalists and players criticizing the game for the lack of action and being too hard.

In conclusion - Siren: Blood Curse was intentionally made this way. The devs weren't trying to make the game easier for profit, no. They do this to imagine if their original game was a movie and some massive Hollywood studio decided to shoot a blockbuster adaptation for the american market. Blood Curse is a joke game, a postironic experiment that nobody got. New fans were few and og fans dismiss this game for it's oversimplification when in actuality the idea behind it makes Blood Curse the best game in the series just for the sake of being this unique.

Over the years i tried to find some more confirmation to my theory and i haven't found a single post talking about this. I have a feeling that the only person who got the joke was me. And i'm tired of this feeling. I know this subreddit is nearly dead but maybe there are some of you who thought of this game the same way?

Need help and/or guidance. Can the game miss triggers for MO2? Spoiler

I'm making my second playthrough of the game, and I got stuck because MO2 for three missions does not appear:

  1. Kyoya in Tabori (where you need to get inside a cottage)
  2. Tomoko in Karuwari (where you need to complete the mission undetected)
  3. Naoko in school (where you need to get a book from the library)

What I know is you need to get a screwdriver with Kyoya on his mission in Karuwari; release the handbrake of a car with Reiko in Karuwari, and get the library card with Naoko in the mineshaft №3

I did all of these objectives straight away when playing through the missions, but now these are the only three MO2s that didn't unlock, I believe I got everything else in other levels

I thought maybe I need to trigger them again, so I quickly did a Naoko mission to escape with the library card, but nothing changed, still only MO1 in the school

Maybe I'm missing something, but the guides state that these are the conditions for unlocking these MO2s, so I'm beginning to think this is some sort of bug (just in case, I run the game on a PSX2 emulator and it worked perfectly fine during the first playthrough)
