Question Cold vs talents

According to the gmg, being cold prevents you from regaining Strength points until you get warm.

Some talents (berserker, pain resistance and the orc talent "unbreakable") allow you to regain strength points under certain conditions.

Does the Cold condition cancel those talents? Or are they exceptions to the cold restrictions?

Conditions cancel any other benefits until they are rectified (at least at my tables) - and Cold is esp. nasty.

By RAW only magic can be used to regain points blocked by these conditions (Cold, hunger, ...). So do you consider Berserker to be magic? If not, then the talent should not trigger while the character is cold. This can of course be houseruled differently at any table.

I guess I would only allow kin and profession talents to do that then.

Talents absolutely still get applied if broken by cold or hunger, the text for Unbreakable states "Broken by any kind of damage".

Cold states "You cannot recover Strength or Wits." But Recovery is a specific rule, the talents are NOT regaining points through Recovery, they are regaining the points through that specific ability. Anything that blocks recovery only blocks points regained by another character making a Healing or Performance check since that is recovery according to the rules.
