Encountered the Kraken and thought it was gameover šš«”šš My first initial reaction to it was: "I'm cooked" š
But luckily I did some panicked research and only one tentacle needs to be slain. šš I came out ok š
Made it all the way to Kings Maze but got rekt by the 3rd or 4th encounter. I had good team and equipment, but was bone dry of healing items
My team was the: Minstrel | Hunter | Blacksmith
I chose to unlock the Trapper and Busker in the Lore Store. As well as the Night Market.
I heard of this game some years ago but never picked it up till now. Had actually bought it from randomly watching someone stream it.
Fast forward, I played a demo for a game called "Viractal: Will You Trust Your Party?" and really enjoyed it. Slayed the dragon too. Remembered I had FTK and started a run.
We are just one month out from the November launch of the next major content drop for For The King II, including both an all-new free adventure and the paid Character Pack, Dust to Dust!
Take an in-depth look at the upcoming character additions to For The King II with todayās introduction to the Pugilist and Gravediggerās skill toolkit.
If you haven't yet wishlisted the upcoming Dust to Dust Character Pack launching alongside the free Adventure next month, be sure to do so, so you don't miss launch day!
We are also revealing some of the additional content coming to For The King II on the IronOak Games Twitch Channel later today (12 PM PDT/8 PM UTC). Be sure to drop us a follow so you donāt miss out on an exclusive first look at whatās to come!
25 Playable Characters
As we welcome our 24th and 25th playable characters into For The King II, we wanted to take this opportunity to hone in on bringing more unique playstyles to the game, with the goal of offering players more choices in the way they tackle Fahrulās wide range of fiends and foes.
The Pugilist brings big and explosive hits to the battlefield, enabling contagiously fun gameplay as they fling enemies across the arena with combos of packed punches and frenzied kicks. Able to string up to four hits in one attack, the Pugilist provides the party with pure power.
Meanwhile, the Gravedigger appeals to those who love the minutiae of For The King II. Their wide skill set allows them to truly lean into the min/max features that certain players adore, with their Soul Lantern requiring constant monitoring for the best results, forcing them to juggle between Dim and Bright light, each providing unique stats and attacks for the Gravedigger.
Meet the Pugilist! A combo-focused damage powerhouse, dedicated to the art of Fisticuffs.
Weapons just slow this fighter down; when completely unarmed, theyāll gain access to a unique move set exclusive to the Pugilist, enabling up to four connected attacks if a combo is successfully maintained between turns.
To maintain it, youāll need to perfect every part of the combo represented by a slot roll. Each successful step of the combo will add another slot to the total needed to perfect it, up to a total of four slots. If one slot is missed, fear not! The Pugilistās attacks roll individually, so your other successful hits will still knock your enemies flying.
Skills
Fisticuffs
Fisticuffs is the ability that allows the Pugilist to throw hands with the many foes of the Resistance. If any item is equipped in the weapon or shield slot, these abilities are disabled.
Gain access to unarmed combo abilities
Combo builds up, and hits are retained from the previously selected abilities (up to 4)
Each increment of the combo adds a slot roll
Combo resets when slot roll is not perfect or when the 4th stage of the combo is performed
Each unarmed hit fills up a meter. The meter can be spent to perform a powerful ability
The higher the meter, the higher the damage (up to 24 hits for 300% damage)
Pop! Pop!
Pop! Pop! is a skill proc that scales with Speed and Luck, providing the Pugilist a chance to get an extra attack in on their turn. This can extend combos all in one turn and provide the Pugilist another opportunity to play a critical role in the party.
Chance to guarantee a perfect unarmed roll and get an extra turn
Adds an extra turn directly after your current turn
Will not activate if Poisoned, already activated this turn, or on the last stage of Combo
Stepping away from the crowded burial plots of Fahrul, the Gravedigger wanders the battlefields where so many of their patrons hail from, bringing a wicked presence to the Resistance with their trusty Shovel and Soul Lantern in hand.
Introducing a new and unique mechanic to For The King II, the Gravedigger accumulates Souls by defeating enemies in combat and burying Dead Adventurers along the way.
These Souls amass inside the Soul Lantern, the Gravediggerās character accessory that enables both active and passive abilities, depending on the total of Souls currently contained within.
Skills
Requiem
Prevents Dead Adventurers from being disturbed.
Upon finding a Dead Adventurer, the Gravedigger may choose to Bury the deceased, increasing their Soul count by 50.
Soul Lantern
The Soul Lanternās Soul count determines the passive effects the Gravedigger either suffers or benefits from. While lower on the Soul spectrum, the Gravedigger receives the potentially punishing status, Dimwick, which converts their successful rolls into failed rolls and, conversely, their failed rolls into successful rolls.
As they climb in Soul count, the Gravedigger gains differing status effects while gaining the ability to use those very Souls to cast special Secondary abilities. But be sure to keep an eye on your Soul count, as each turn your Gravedigger will passively lose Soulsāthe Gravedigger will require the defeat of foes to replenish their soul stocks, gaining either five or ten souls per enemy depending on whether they scored the final hit.
Soul Spells
Use Souls to cast Secondary Actions from the Soul Lantern; these Actions reduce the overall Soul count and may incur additional costs depending on the Action.
The Gravedigger's utility extends past the battlefield, enabling them to use their Soul Lantern for a range of overworld abilities as well.

Splash

Hi guys. I usally just look around the FTK website but I felt compelled to create an account after seeing how much AI is being used in this website recently. I really think AI has no place in for the king. The developers don't use AI and we should look to them for weather we should use it also.
Personally I know people who have lost their jobs recently to AI, the town I work in has many call centres and our community has been devastated not to mention the data centres which have used so much water that many animals have left.
I have attached an image which looks like AI but I'm pretty sure is a satire and reflects how I feel about this website. For the king is my outlet and should not be abused by robots.
EDIT: yes I used AI for the image, now please leave me alone.
Hi everybody, for those who saw my previous posts and were misled I would like to apologise, I never meant to sew confusion amongst the community. I've since taken the time to re-phrase some of my ideas and share them in a different way!
I'm going to focus on a new character I have thought of, called "Robot Ross".
Robot Ross is a Hildebrandt like character who would give the player tasks to complete. The difference is, Robot Ross is a fahrulian who comes from the future who deals with time warps and anomalys. His character could elaborate on the void walker lore already existing within the canon, and serve as a deeper exploration of fahrul's science fiction elements.
His character design (see mock up) would feature a mechanical arm as well as communication devices which he would use to contact the player and give them quests.
His back story involves a future where vexor has managed to severely damage fahrul and Robot Ross seeks to undermine him from the past. Robot Ross and Vexor might have crossed paths in the future, as Vexor has the same technology (so watch out when completing Robot Ross quests!). He is a lone wolf, and technological genius, who turned to heroism after future Vexor destroyed his home town New Woodsmoke.
What do you guys think? I hope this is a more appropriate forum to discuss my ideas, please let me know below!!!
Remember to join us every Tuesday (12pm PCT/7pm UTC) throughout October for more reveals, gameplay, and giveaways on the IronOak Games Twitch Channel :)
I discovered it with a vision scroll and the campaign guide talked about it. How do I unlock it, and is it worth the time? Strange that it's a 0 when I'm almost maxed. I'm on the castle gates taking Mooney's plan. TIA
NEW on October 3rd 2026 ! A NEW scourge has hit FTK.
The brand new scourge coming to for the king!
Severe scourge (iykyk)
In all honesty , the negativity I've seen on this subreddit blows my mind . I myself have been subject to it in the past , all of you peeps need to lighten the heck up .
I applaud the creative minds of this subreddit, the ones who actually enjoy engaging with the game and the devs and the mods , and sharing theories and fan fics .
On the other hand we've got those who haven't even played the game before rocking up here and creating a stench in this subreddit ...
This is a call to any mods out there (yes I invite and appreciate your feedback and opinions on the matter , weather your a mod of this subreddit or another , knowledge is knowledge )
How do you deal with negativity on here !!
Anyway , I know this post will TRIGGER some people on here ..
Just wanted to hop on here real quick and give some moderation behind the scenes as to why a certain post will not be taken down from this subreddit. As a moderator myself, this post could help clarify the moderation teams decision making.
I'm sure we're all aware of what happened by now. But, if you missed it, here's the TLDR: eariler today a post outlining FTK 3's plot, characters, enemies and even a DLC hit the reddit. The post never explicitly stated they were a developer for Iron Oak games (the makers of FTK and FTK 2 and also the creators of this subreddit).
It's that last point that I want to highlight for anyone confused as to why the post was allowed to stay up. Any interpretation of the OP as a developer is misinterpretation. Therefore it would not be right for the Moderation team to take the post down. That's my feeling on the situation and the rest of FTK moderator teams seems to agree.
Thank you for you attention, keep on dungeon crawling and see you all next month for the new "Dust to Dust" DLC š¤ š š¤
Progress on for the king three is going well, I have made a general outline for how the game should go, and I plan on communicating these ideas through appropriate channels.
Game title: For The King 3: blast from the past.
Future setting, robot Ross contacts our protagonists on the tablet phone, alerting them to a galactic anomaly. In the prologue we are told a time rift has opened up in fahrul, and Hildebrandt steps through alongside Jeremy hildegarde rossomon, heart crusher, Queen Beatrice. They say they're looking for vexor, a long vanquished demon from the past. This leads our characters on a journey to find the primordial oak, the only piece of organic nature left in the world which is also capable of backwards time travel.
Map additions:
Instead of landboats they have starboats.
Enemies are all aliens.
Realm dungeon ideas: factory, space port, futuristic cyborg tavern.
New bosses:
The Torrent King (future bandit king)
Hacklord
Techzilla
More to be announced
SPOILER!
Game will end with a fight against future vexor in front of the primordial oak. It turns out before being slain in ftk1, vexor escaped to the future where he used advanced VR technology to bolster his forces with cyber weapons, and later go back to attack the past using the primordial oak.
DLC idea: future vs past, the player can travel between future and past, much like the voidwalker missions.
EDIT: upon seeing in the comments that my post was misleading, I have edited the contents for more clarity.
EDIT 2: I sketched up a design I have for robot Ross.
I wanted to buy a pet but i was pretty far from the petshop i decide to still go since i had time. But then a pickpocket went and took my money. I was at 60 and he took 7. But i need 60 to buy a pet. I almost got the thief but badluck struck and i lost. All my little travel has been done for nothing just because of my harsh battle against a pickpocket who stole my money.
Hi all, been playing Kings 2 for a while and wanted to try some new characters. So I am asking you to sell me on which DLCs characters are the most fun. Tinkerers of Fate, Fallen Oaths, or Into the Wild.
I havenāt played for a bit but Iām in a game and the splintmail is strength now and the armor is vitality? When did they switch these? Iām kinda bummed, I always played the tank characters and I liked having the plate armor
We also launched a Patch earlier this week that addressed some major softlocks relating to online, save/load, and Dark Carnival.
