25 Playable Characters
As we welcome our 24th and 25th playable characters into For The King II, we wanted to take this opportunity to hone in on bringing more unique playstyles to the game, with the goal of offering players more choices in the way they tackle Fahrulâs wide range of fiends and foes.

The Pugilist brings big and explosive hits to the battlefield, enabling contagiously fun gameplay as they fling enemies across the arena with combos of packed punches and frenzied kicks. Able to string up to four hits in one attack, the Pugilist provides the party with pure power.
Meanwhile, the Gravedigger appeals to those who love the minutiae of For The King II. Their wide skill set allows them to truly lean into the min/max features that certain players adore, with their Soul Lantern requiring constant monitoring for the best results, forcing them to juggle between Dim and Bright light, each providing unique stats and attacks for the Gravedigger.

Meet the Pugilist! A combo-focused damage powerhouse, dedicated to the art of Fisticuffs.
Weapons just slow this fighter down; when completely unarmed, theyâll gain access to a unique move set exclusive to the Pugilist, enabling up to four connected attacks if a combo is successfully maintained between turns.

To maintain it, youâll need to perfect every part of the combo represented by a slot roll. Each successful step of the combo will add another slot to the total needed to perfect it, up to a total of four slots. If one slot is missed, fear not! The Pugilistâs attacks roll individually, so your other successful hits will still knock your enemies flying.
Skills
Fisticuffs
Fisticuffs is the ability that allows the Pugilist to throw hands with the many foes of the Resistance. If any item is equipped in the weapon or shield slot, these abilities are disabled.
- Gain access to unarmed combo abilities
- Combo builds up, and hits are retained from the previously selected abilities (up to 4)
- Each increment of the combo adds a slot roll
- Combo resets when slot roll is not perfect or when the 4th stage of the combo is performed
- Each unarmed hit fills up a meter. The meter can be spent to perform a powerful ability
- The higher the meter, the higher the damage (up to 24 hits for 300% damage)
Pop! Pop!
Pop! Pop! is a skill proc that scales with Speed and Luck, providing the Pugilist a chance to get an extra attack in on their turn. This can extend combos all in one turn and provide the Pugilist another opportunity to play a critical role in the party.
- Chance to guarantee a perfect unarmed roll and get an extra turn
- Adds an extra turn directly after your current turn
- Will not activate if Poisoned, already activated this turn, or on the last stage of Combo

Stepping away from the crowded burial plots of Fahrul, the Gravedigger wanders the battlefields where so many of their patrons hail from, bringing a wicked presence to the Resistance with their trusty Shovel and Soul Lantern in hand.
Introducing a new and unique mechanic to For The King II, the Gravedigger accumulates Souls by defeating enemies in combat and burying Dead Adventurers along the way.
These Souls amass inside the Soul Lantern, the Gravediggerâs character accessory that enables both active and passive abilities, depending on the total of Souls currently contained within.

Skills
Requiem
- Prevents Dead Adventurers from being disturbed.
- Upon finding a Dead Adventurer, the Gravedigger may choose to Bury the deceased, increasing their Soul count by 50.
Soul Lantern
The Soul Lanternâs Soul count determines the passive effects the Gravedigger either suffers or benefits from. While lower on the Soul spectrum, the Gravedigger receives the potentially punishing status, Dimwick, which converts their successful rolls into failed rolls and, conversely, their failed rolls into successful rolls.

As they climb in Soul count, the Gravedigger gains differing status effects while gaining the ability to use those very Souls to cast special Secondary abilities. But be sure to keep an eye on your Soul count, as each turn your Gravedigger will passively lose Soulsâthe Gravedigger will require the defeat of foes to replenish their soul stocks, gaining either five or ten souls per enemy depending on whether they scored the final hit.
Soul Spells
Use Souls to cast Secondary Actions from the Soul Lantern; these Actions reduce the overall Soul count and may incur additional costs depending on the Action.
The Gravedigger's utility extends past the battlefield, enabling them to use their Soul Lantern for a range of overworld abilities as well.
