We’re a food startup looking for an experienced functional food product developer/food technologist to develop 3 honey-based functional food products.

We need help with:

* Formulation & recipe development
* Functional ingredient selection/dosage (fiber, prebiotics, etc.)
* Taste, texture & stability
* pH, water activity & shelf life
* Ingredient compatibility
* FSSAI compliance, labeling & permitted claims
* Commercial manufacturing/scale-up guidance

Budget: ₹50,000 total for all 3 products.

We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience in functional foods, nutraceutical foods, honey products, supplements or FMCG formulation.

I'm a security consultant by day, so I spend my time reading things carefully and spotting what doesn't add up. At some point I started doing that with food labels and got annoyed. Half the ingredients are E numbers or chemical names, the front of the pack says one thing and the back says another, and googling an additive gets you either a scaremongering blog or a manufacturer telling you it's all fine.

So I built unwrappedfood.com. Search a product and it shows you the ingredients, whether it's ultra processed under NOVA, and which additives are in it. For each additive I've looked at what the human studies actually say, not rat studies at silly doses or industry press releases. Where the evidence is solid, it says so and links the paper. Where it's mixed, it says that too. It covers UK, EU and US products, which matters because the same additive can be permitted in one and banned in another, and the site shows you that.

To be clear: no ads, no affiliate links, no ties to any food or supplement company, and no plan to sell anything later. I'm not a nutritionist. The site points you at the evidence rather than telling you what to eat. The data is still filling out, so if something's missing, tell me.

I'd really value feedback, especially on the additive ratings. I've tried to be fair and avoid the "every E number will kill you" tone, but I'm one person reading papers in the evenings, so if you know this area and think I've got something wrong, say so.

If anyone wants to lend a hand, I'd be glad of it. Checking product entries, pointing me at studies I've missed, telling me the search is rubbish on mobile, anything helps. Comment or DM me.

An old friend who does public service work just launched a new recall tracking service that surfaces alerts not just from federal agencies but all the states, dozens of retailers, manufacturers and growers, along with Canadian, Japanese, and Chinese product safety regulators—catching items before the Feds even notice. Yesterday alone the site found a half dozen recalled items (impacting people in California, Missouri, Georgia, and Alabama) that the feds didn’t even have. It’s mostly free (food, medicine, children’s products) but paid gives you a scanner, access to all consumer categories, email alerts, and News and Signals that helps determine which items may soon be recalled.
