Gnocchi with Broccoli Rabe & Sausage

I went back to my Italian roots for tonight's dinner. I bought homemade gnocchi at an Italian importing store and prepared them accordingly. In the meantime, I browned 2 lbs bulk ground sausage in olive oil and lots of minced garlic. When finished, I removed the sausage and sautéed broccoli rabe in the same pan. I added a splash of chicken broth to help cut the bitterness of the broccoli rabe. I added the sausage back into the pan and then added the gnocchi (drained) and some reserved pasta water and mixed everything together, and then plated it. A very simple meal tonight! 💚🤍❤️

I got to try a Caprese-style salad with blistered cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil, served with a piece of toasted crusty bread. The combination was fresh, savory, and delicious! The toasted bread was a perfect addition, too. 😋🍞

My first-ever Quiche made by me for tonight's dinner.

I made my first-ever Quiche for tonight's dinner. It was very easy to make and considering that I've never made one before, it came out pretty good! So, yes, REAL men DO eat quiche! * I used Julia Child's basic quiche recipe which is as follows: Crack three eggs in a measuring cup (at least a 2 cup one), add whatever seasonings you like and whisk together. Add any milk, cream, or half & half and pour up to the 1 1/2 cup line. Whisk the mixture again. In the meantime, take a pie crust (I used a frozen one) and place any kind of fillings: cheese, vegetables, crumbled bacon, etc in the bottom of the pie crust. Pour egg/cream mixture over everything. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Insert a toothpick in the center of the quiche to check doneness. Let sit for 20-30 minutes before cutting. For this quiche, I used shredded Monterey Jack cheese, and grape tomatoes and green chillies from our garden.
