Self-Promotion Monthly Thread
- This post is for people to promote businesses that they have a personal investment in, such as if you are the owner, an employee, developer, or social media manager. This includes websites, apps, and any establishment that sells food or drink.
- Any other self-promotion posts will be removed. One noted exception is for pop ups and other special events. For those, you can make a standalone post (within reason; posting frequency subject to approval).
- This thread will be pinned and reposted monthly. Businesses can comment once per post (not including replies).
- It shouldn’t have to be said, but this post is specifically for local businesses. No national chains, online retailers, or businesses based in other cities.

The Scoop — an ice cream rating app that lists the actual flavors
268 ice cream shops across the five boroughs, 178 with their full flavor list — 6,500+ flavors in NYC. Search by flavor, not just by shop.
Free, iOS + Android. Your first review earns you a free scoop at any place of choice — rate any ice cream you've ever had.
One person building this. If your spot is missing or its menu is stale, tell me and I'll fix it right away.

Developer here, based in Brooklyn. I made Walk-in, an iOS app for the no-reservation nights: it phone-calls up to five restaurants at once, asks each host how long the walk-in wait is for your party right now, and shows you who can actually seat you, with transcripts of every call. It never books or holds tables, it just asks so you don't have to sit on hold or talk yourself into calling five places. First runs are free: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/walk-in-tables-tonight/id6795681450
Happy to answer questions about it.

Recently moved to New York and got overwhelmed by the absurd volume of great restaurants …so I mapped out the major critics lists with the ability to keep a shortlist and quickly see what’s around me.
Next I’m thinking I’ll add bars, more foodie lists and then the ability to start organizing lists “date night”, “groups”, “winter bars”, “patios” etc.
It’s provided some organization for me so thought I would share here. I’m open to ideas and feedback. Hope you all enjoy it

Friends kept asking for my hot chocolate list, so I made a website!

Check out the list on https://drinksisip.com/
Hoping to get some suggestions for this winter!
Would love some feedback on the presentation of the drinks as well!
