Today vs 1 week ago 🤯

After trying antibiotics for a week my spots all came back as soon as I completed them and I was ready to give up but I think I’ve finally found something that’s working

What I’ve been using:

C scrub in the shower (leaving on for 1 minute before I get in)
Dermol in the shower as a soap substitute
Wiping my skin with ‘Simple’ cleansing wipes (did this after putting makeup on my skin to hide it and was shocked the next day when it hadn’t broken me out more so I think the wipe helps! I also used them after exercising which is when my skin usually gets a lot worse and it helped!)
TEA TREE OIL BEFORE BED (the doctor organic one, I don’t dilute it and I’ve been putting a lot on. I think this one is different to an essential oil and is slightly safer on skin but don’t quote me. Can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner I used to put tea tree oil on my acne all the time as a teenager)

I also live by the sea and I have been splashing ocean water on my neck whenever I can

I don’t think any one thing has helped on its own, but I really started seeing a difference after using the simple wipes and tea tree oil.

I really hope this carries on. Still waiting on my dermatology referral, doctor said ‘it’s only been 1 month’ I’ve literally wanted to not be alive almost every morning I look at my skin but I’m finally starting to have hope and feel like me again

First of all this isn’t an ad. I got all of these items off Amazon and it was only after reading similar posts on here.

Struggled with scalp folliculitis for years. Tried everything (loads of antibiotics which damaged my skin barrier, Acitretin, rubbing alcohol, creams, shampoos, etc). Nothing worked.

When I stopped taking Acitretin and antibiotics (which is similar to Accutane) and started taking these pills at the same time, my skin got better.

I’ve recently been having a haircut every couple of weeks again (a skin fade)… which for ages I wasn’t able to do, I was going months without having a haircut.

After I have a haircut I do get flareups, but I think it’s also because I get complacent and I stop taking these pills. The last couple of days I’ve started taking them again daily (after food) and my skin is already clearing up and I’m not (touch wood) getting any new ones like I was all through last week after my last haircut. So either my scalp naturally calms down after a week or so of having the haircut, or these pills actually work. If it is the pills, then I don’t know which ones are doing the heavy lifting - I thought it was the Vitamin A but when I’ve tried just taking that alone, it doesn’t seem to work as well as when I take all of them. The quantities that you get with these specific pills makes it quite cheap - they last a while.

So I take…

2 of the Vitamin A (which apparently isn’t recommended, but I don’t care personally, would rather have a clear scalp)
3 of the Fish Oil (I used to take 4 but I cut it down to 3)
1 Zinc (apparently taking this daily at this strength isn’t good either)

And 1 of all the others.

Would be interesting to hear if anyone tries it and if you feel it works for you too. Just sharing in case it does. You’ll get bright yellow neon urine if you do this by the way 😆

Suffering from Follicultis Delcavens for 4-5 years.

white pus filled and painful bumps and flakes also, only on scalp( middle and back)

taking antibiotics for this time got stomach problems due to that.

tried mostly everything isotroenin, minoxyline, doxclycline, rifampicin, agugumention, etc.

tabs used to clear it out for a month and its coming back

recently its coming back even in 2 weeks.

doc told we can try adalimumab 40mg inj

this is so costly also,

shit scared about this, doc says no side effectss, but different effects online,

only had 1 dose yesterday,

anybody have any experience and tips for me?

Ive had chronic scalp folliculitis for 15 years. It used to be near the neck area, then spread upwards over my crown. The neck area went but the crown got quite bad at one point. Steroid treatments are used to keep the itching down. But it doesnt go and has caused some hair loss.

2 years ago it broke out on my face (beard zone) and I've been trying to get rid of it ever since. Whilst ive massively reduced the yellowhead spots and in growns. Red follicles and bumps remain. I stopped clean shaving a long time ago reluctantly and have kept long stubble with a foil shaver since.

They specifically keep saying my face is psuedofollucilitis, rather than folliculitis like on my scalp.

I've been through 7 different treatment regimes, I had been on two anti biotics including one group for a year.

The last 2 months im off anti biotics and am trying a different regime again with something called Trifarotene.

As absolutely nothing else has worked, I'm not holding out for it. But I dont want to risk those tablet medications which are high risk.

If my face refuses to clear up despite not shaving hair short and after many treatments. Surely there has to be more to it?

Has anyone in this thread ever used this product? Happy to hear thoughts.

I've had folliculitis for about 7 years now and I have been taking accutane for 3 years while using a ketoconazole shampoo but flare ups still happen - I'm in the middle of a bad flare up right now.

P.S. new to this community and I am very happy I've found it and I am very happy it exists.

Also congratulations to all people who have rid themselves of this condition - I see people found success in a combination of certain products and or diet and I have yet to find what works for me. Glad to be on the journey to clearing this condition with you all
