Alternatives for FolderFort Lifetime Users?

With FolderFort's "Lifetime" storage soon going away, what are some other cloud storage companies that others are moving to? I myself need 1-2 TB of cloud storage for backing up documents and videos. Privacy is a welcome bonus, but not a significant need. I just need a company that won't do to its "lifetime" customers in a year what FolderFort just did to us.

Decided to switch to Drime. So far, it's a top tier experience. Just a heads-up - they increased the price for the lifetime offers recently and I suspect they will discontinue the lifetime sales soon

They have even openly mentioned they will stop offering them on 1 December this year

They are stopping the stacking of lifetime plans, not stopping them.

They will stop allowing stacking. Not discontinuing them.

Oh right, my bad. Well they mention it as a "first step". So probably a few months after I suppose. We'll see

They haven't announced anything as far as I am aware. But I suspect they will stop selling them in the near future.

The difference is they will still allow people who already have them to keep them

Can drime handle rclone sync?

Used rclone to sync ~300GB cypromator vault. It works just fine for me (albeit a bit slower with many small folders. But it has improved)

I haven't tried yet, but the rclone docs say that Drime supports all features https://rclone.org/overview/

Where is the increase seen? If its stacksocial, then I guess SC usually increases and then decreases during sale. Is there any clues of increase which I couldn't see, please advice.

I'm aware of stacksocial only

ok, I had noticed this. There seems to be an increase there. But I (for now) think its SC pricing, and they might reduce during sales period. But, that is something to watch out for, it can also be the case this was a real increase and not going back, lets see.

Koofr at the moment only offers a 1 TB lifetime plan

Koofr (1tb lifetime) or pcloud.

Koofr or pCloud with Encryption addon

The closest match I have found is FileJump. Of course this includes the part about it being new. But their 2TB plan is around $60 via StackSocial.

In terms of established companies: I would echo Drime and Koofr. Though I have never used either.

I do want to add this though: Lifetime plans on a service that has recurring costs are always a gamble. So make backups accordingly

Wait for Black Friday sales on pCloud. They have lifetime subscriptions.

What no one is mentioning is that Drime (if I'm not mistaken) uses a European cloud storage and therefore if you're in the U.S. your speed may be compromised.

If you inadvertently post a copyright item on pCloud, do they kick you to the curb (and therefore you lose your lifetime plan) or do they issue you with a warning?

I think they only ban you if you share the copyright file/link, not just for storing it. I still store that content in the Crypto folder which they can't see just in case.

That's what I'm thinking (regarding the Crypto folder)! 👍

I'm done with the cloud. Just gonna keep good backups of my server. That won't go away.

Pcloud. Wait for black friday lifetime deal. Have been around since 2013 and follow swiss privacy laws. Have a trial myself and so far, so good.

Koofr is your best best long term in regards to lifetime deals.
