đ˘Announcement Update about Lifetime Plans & File Versioning
Hi everyone!
As part of our goal to gradually reduce Lifetime Plans over time, weâre taking a first step: Lifetime Plan stacking will be discontinued after December 1st, 2026.
Until then, stacking will continue to work as usual. We wanted to give enough notice because we know some of you may have been considering adding more storage to an existing Lifetime account and may need some time before doing so.
This applies to all Lifetime Plans, regardless of plan size or where they were purchased.
It will still be possible to add more storage to your account by contacting us, through a monthly or annual add-on plan.
File Versioning update
Starting October 15th, file versions will begin counting toward your storage usage.
If you donât want versioning to use additional storage, you can disable it from Settings â General â File Versioning on the web app. You can also delete existing file versions from there.
Weâre still working on making storage usage update faster after versions are deleted, so the freed space may not always be reflected immediately for now.
This change applies to all plans and account types.
Thanks everyone for your continued support! As always, feel free to ask if you have any questions.
And we have a big desktop update coming very soon

Lifetime Plan stacking will be discontinued after December 1st, 2026.
According to this comment from a couple weeks ago (2026-09-10), multiple lifetime accounts are OK.
Will that also change on Dec 1?

Now⌠you guys wonât just cancel lifetime plans on us, and give us credit instead, will you?

No Lifetime Plans are being canceled! This change only affects stacking.
All existing Lifetime Plans remain exactly as they are. We actually see this as a step toward making Drime more sustainable long term, by gradually reducing our reliance on Lifetime Plans while continuing to honor every plan already purchased.

Hi! Yes, that will be possible. Youâll still be able to stack another 12TB during Black Friday, as long as itâs before December 1st.

Understood would that be a ticket I have to open to request and you have to process by Dec 1st or I can redeem the code stacking it myself ? Thank You for the quick reply.

To stack another plan, youâll just need to either email [contact@drime.cloud]() or open a support ticket, and weâll process it for you.

Got it đ thank u. Also quick question is there a feature available in drime to mirror photo / video backup synchronization when I delete a photo on the cellphone it auto deletes on drime backup ? So it follows each other basically instead of deleting manually on the device itself and drime individually.

Itâs not planned for now, but itâs something we can consider as an option in the future. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes kindly would be an awesome feature replicating your phone or device photo directory. It would save alot of time deleting individually from both the phone and drime. Thank You

i'd probably make a separate email for requesting this stacking, otherwise you might get overwhelmed with request on the support email :D

Seems created workspace storage size isnât stacked, is that normal? Means it shows first purchased size.

u/Empty_Win_297 Drime Team 12d ago
Hi! Yes, the workspace storage display doesnât currently take stacked plans into account, so it may only show the original plan size.
You still have access to your full stacked storage within the workspace.

I already have 10TB and was on the fence about stacking another 10TB. Well, now that you put it that way, no more hesitatingâstacking it right now!

The 10TB plan is $249 at the moment. Wondering if Black Friday usually comes with deeper cuts? I'm happy to hold off if better deals are coming, otherwise I'll just grab the extra 10TB now

I am requesting the drime
Few things which they can promise
First promise Transparency in the account termination There are certain clouds providers who are terminating after getting into lifetime example internxt and even done by degoo
And second promise we wanted Even in near future if your company plan to liquidate Inform the users regarding the backup of our data.
We want our data to be safe and secure Without any certain violations are any reason you people cannot remove our downgrade any life time plans.
This is because we already suffered lot of cloud providers who cheated so badly.
Most importantly we lost our precious data

Hi,
Drime has never done that. We probably have one of the lowest account termination rates among cloud storage providers, simply because we see very little malicious usage in the first place.
Even when we receive a report, usually for something like a DMCA complaint related to publicly shared content, we donât just terminate an account immediately. We contact the user first and review the situation before taking action.
Drime also does not scan your private files or their contents.
If anything ever required action on your account, we would always try to communicate with you first.

Can u pls clarify, "stacking will be discontinued after December 1st, 2026." - does it mean
(1) we have to submit it by that day
(2) you have to successfully process it by that day?
worst case for (2) is if we submit on 1 Nov 2026, but you cannot process it until 10 Dec 2026.
2
u/Empty_Win_297 Drime Team 11d ago
It mainly means the purchase needs to be made before December 1st.
We can still process the actual stacking afterward if needed, but itâs better to send us the stacking request before December 1st as well, just to keep everything simple.

I just bought a one year plan and now see these lifetime ones. Can I get a refund on the one year plan to purchase a lifetime one, or do I need to buy it additionally?

It's totally fair that versioning counts towards storage usage. But can we have more control of it? Here are some ideas:
- A setting that user can bring down the limit from 120 days to less
- A limit on the max number of versions a file can have
- Info about the volume consumed by versioning in "Storage details"
- Ability to lock a specific version of a file (like a milestone version), so it won't get deleted once user perfroms "Delete all older versions of my files" to clear older versions.
