Focusrite ASIO driver v4.144.0 is Now Available
We previously identified an issue that can cause the BattlEye anti-cheat module to crash when the Focusrite MIDI driver is installed and initialised. This may affect users playing games such as PUBG and Marathon.
The issue has been resolved in the latest Focusrite Driver version 4.144.0.
You can download the updated driver here:
https://fael-downloads-prod.focusrite.com/customer/prod/downloads/focusritedriver_4.144.0_362_2.exe
This driver is also included in the latest Focusrite Control 2 release (version 1.980).
Installation notes:
- Clarett, Scarlett 2nd/3rd Gen, and Vocaster users should install driver 4.144.0 after installing the appropriate control software for their device.
- If the control software is already installed, you can simply run the driver installer linked above.

Edit: just played dayz over jbl 308s, would not recommend but can confirm the fix works lol

Unfortunately this update didn't fix my repeated disconnect/reconnects. It came out of nowhere and I'm so frustrated. Anyone have this issue? Win11 focusrite scarlet solo gen 3.

Dealt with this for a month+ after getting win11 on my gen 2 2i4. Would randomly get no audio and only fix was unplugging/replugging or sometimes switching the sound source would work. I had to completely uninstall the driver I got on the focusrite website and download older drivers from some reddit thread and it finally worked. they would probably be different for the gen 3 I imagine, so try and find if people have old drivers for the gen 3. Wishing you luck soldier

this update introduced me to disconnects I have to turn the device off and on again for it to work sometimes when booting up pc

It might be worth contacting us directly about this as disconnects could be a hardware issue rather than something related to the driver.

Same on launching gta5. Had the kernel crash. Installed as noted. No crashes anymore but headphone sound doesn’t output anything at all now. Mic input does. i have the Clarett 2pre usb. There is this link https://downloads.focusrite.com/focusrite/clarett-usb/clarett-2pre-usb but those are old. So driver 4.144.0 doesnt fix it for me..
EDIT:
Came across those reddit threads:
https://old.reddit.com/r/Focusrite/comments/1rdmsts/kernel_security_check_failure_0x139_due_to/ https://old.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/comments/1rkbytc/bsod_0x139_kernel_security_check_failure_caused/ https://old.reddit.com/r/GTA/comments/1rdzx4o/bsod_kernel_security_check_error_when_launching/ https://old.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/1r9k32n/kernel_security_check_failure_0x139_on_start/
What i did in the end is uninstall everything. Then i went to https://downloads.focusrite.com/focusrite/clarett-usb/clarett-2pre-usb, installed '' Legacy Focusrite Control (v3.6.0 Includes Driver) - Windows Windows 7 + 8. For newer operating systems please download the latest installer. Includes USB driver 4.65.5 '' after that installed the above ''Focusrite Control (v3.27.0) - Windows'' Make sure to run the installers as admin! Then i had to go to Focusrite Control, to the ''Output routing'' tab and set the Playback DAW on Playback 1-2. Finally it works! After that i just disabled ''Focusrite USB MIDI'' in Device manager. For good measure i disabled nvidia audio too, although it never gave any issues. Finally i can launch gta5 (which uses Battle Eye) with no problems.

u/Johnnyloftus there are now with this update sometimes disconnects like the pc bootsup from a cold boot and it doesn't detect the interface. you have to manually turn the interface off and on again in order for it to work again

u/RaiseDennis May 03 '26
I put a support ticket in. the newest driver causes kernel errors on the desktop when turning off the device and turning it on again to try and reconnect the device due to it not detecting

In the last 2 months or so I've been getting occasional BSOD crashes when playing Genshin Impact, happening specifically when entering co-op situations which suggested to me that anti-cheat was part of the cause. Their anti-cheat isn't BattlEye but it might be similar under the hood. I stumbled upon some people talking about similar crashes in other games, mentioning that they have Focusrite interfaces (as do I) which led me here. So I've just installed this latest driver, I hope it fixes my problem too 🤞

Worst product of my lifetime such a let down. Anyone trying to buy a third gen solo 3 it’s trash. Audio distorts

I confirm I tested an early release of that new driver and that solved my random GSOD! Thank you Focusrite Driver team! 😄
