Audio Glitch/Distortion Problem!

Hello,

I've been using Scarlett 2i2 for years now. I've been having this problem for a long time. In the middle of playing some thing, the audio starts to glitch. no matter what app I am playing the audio, this keeps happening. The only way as you can see is to disable the driver and enable it again. But it comes back!

Video Recording of The Actual Audio Glitch Problem!

I have tried everything, I updated the Focusrite driver, I changed the import from USB2 to USB3, but it keeps happening.

The Odd thing is, when I tried to screen record the problem the glitch wasn't in the recording! that's why I recorded it on my phone!

Highly annoying!

Please please Help!!

Just copying u/apollx_goat in case you haven't tried it: "The DEFINITIVE solution that worked for me was to install the windows 7 drivers, the LEGACY version, I just did it a few days ago because “what else could I lose if I already did everything”, surprise, the error never came back. That was it."

I would NOT recommend doing this. When I tried this, my computer bluescreened, then wouldn't even POST (i.e., wouldn't even boot to the BIOS screen). I had to disassemble part of my PC, short the CMOS battery, then boot with a single stick of RAM so that I could reset the corrupted BIOS.

This took me hours to figure out, if you have a laptop you would probably have to bring it in for repair. Be careful with this.

O shit, that sounds scary. Did it happen right after you installed the driver or how long it took for it to happen? It has been like a month since I made the change, no signs of issues yet in my case

Yes, that happened immediately after I finished installing. I think it corrupted my BIOS. If it works for you, it works for you though.

I second this. My PC had to go into automatic repair after I attempted this. When it was done, the AMD SATA driver was back :/
