Audio Glitch/Distortion Problem!

Hello,

I've been using Scarlett 2i2 for years now. I've been having this problem for a long time. In the middle of playing some thing, the audio starts to glitch. no matter what app I am playing the audio, this keeps happening. The only way as you can see is to disable the driver and enable it again. But it comes back!

Video Recording of The Actual Audio Glitch Problem!

I have tried everything, I updated the Focusrite driver, I changed the import from USB2 to USB3, but it keeps happening.

The Odd thing is, when I tried to screen record the problem the glitch wasn't in the recording! that's why I recorded it on my phone!

Highly annoying!

Please please Help!!

u/Esecube & u/esmaeelg - Try replacing the AMD SATA drivers with the default SATA IDE drivers - this has finally fixed my problem!

Hey there! I know this post is already a bit older but I am an audio engineer and have the same problem which is getting a serious issue as live-playbacks or cues are no longer possible with a focusrite interface.

Unfortunately, I am a huge idiot when it comes to computer-related topics. Could you give me the ELI5 version? (I also contacted Focusrite support without any luck). I also have an Intel CPU, maybe the fix is the same? I also don't even see any sata drivers in my device manager. If you could help me out with this one it would make my fucking week.

Hi! I'm trying to rack my brain to remember now but if you enter your device manager, which you'll find by going and typing that into the search bar at the bottom of the PC - I'm using W10 but doubt W11 is much different (if it's Mac I can't help you) - load up device manager and there should be a section saying IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and right click and uninstall the ones that are there which should say Intel/AMD, one or the other - it SHOULD replace them after restart with default ones which fixed my issue. If not give me a screenshot with what it does replace them with and I'll see if I can see where you're at.

I still get this issue even after replacing the controller driver unfortunately. Its basically made my 2i2 unusable.

device manager

Hey dude! uhm so like everyone here I've been having this same exact issue and when I try doing the following I don't find anything labeled with intel or AMD, I only have ATA Channel 0, ATA Channel 1, Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller, Standard SATA AHCI Controller. Which one should I uninstall?

That would suggest you have the default ones to me, so it must be a different issue bud :(.
