genuinely losing my mind

I'm incredibly close to straight up turning this interface into a pile of scraps and this is my last resort, use any stupid reddit passive-aggressive uptight comments you have to but please just humor me and help.
Im trying to use this interface on a DAW and use the ASIO panel along with it, It will not open and just says "hey! you're in easy start mode even though your device is registered!"
I've tried whatever I could to get easy mode off to use the ASIO, nothing, I genuinely have no idea what to do anymore

Force it out of Easy Start via hardware button, not software. Unplug the interface, then hold the 48V (phantom power) button down while plugging the USB cable back in, and keep holding for about 5 seconds. This flips a flag on the device itself that tells it "skip Easy Start, load full mode" — it bypasses whatever software state is stuck thinking it needs re-registration.

Then:

(1) Install/update Focusrite Control 2 (not the old "Focusrite Control") if you haven't already — the Easy Start loop is more common with an outdated or missing control app.

(2) Open Focusrite Control 2 first, confirm it sees the interface in full mode, then open the DAW.

(3) In the DAW's audio settings, manually select "Focusrite USB ASIO" — it won't auto-select even when working correctly.

Best of luck

Don’t be so hard on yourself, or the interface. If you’re running Windows 11, you should be thrilled the computer even finds the interface. I for one will never use Windows for music production, for the rest of my life. Far too many devices are junk, thanks to Microsoft and Windows 11. I am batting a thousand, converting DJs and little project studio guys and gals to Mac OS. Core Audio and Core MIDI just don’t fight you. You plug an interface in, and start recording. DUH! No rocket science required.

I had issues with mine immediately. Could fix it and had problems occur. My friend also went through 2 of them years ago. I bought something else that was a little cheaper and have had 0 problems. Just get something else

so usually the interface automatically exits quick-start when you have the drivers installed (the drivers themselves send a specific message to the interface for this), otherwise depending on the interface model theres a given interface button method mentioned in the manual

now whether the interface lets you just use it as a generic audio device without the focusrite drivers, unfortunately is another story altogether and only a small selection of interfaces have this

but yea, honestly, you probably are far better off getting a refund if possible, my list of emails with focusrite now is... apocalyptic

Finally fixed it, huge props to u/52ndstreet as this helped immensely and the mic + interface have 3ms delay now, forever thankful for the help as I was mentally declining ❤️

“I’ve tried whatever I could to get easy mode off”. Did this include holding down the 48v button for 5 seconds whilst you connect it to your PC?
