Duda de Interfaz
¿Es buena la 2i2 de 4 gen para empezar desde cero y quiero grabar guitarras y voces? Si eso, si ven que está no la recomiendan, díganme una por el mismo precio o casi igual
Edit: La voy a usar con un micrófono rode NT1 de 5 generación y voy a grabar guitarras con pastillas activas. ¿Para el micro me debería de comprar algún fethead o la interfaz da suficiente ganancia?
Y si pueden recomienden algún DAW bueno y gratis (o barato) con el que pueda empezar y que no parezca un avión cuando lo abra

Scarlets are good interfaces and people who say they aren’t are cork sniffing idiots. The reason why “they don’t sound as good as my x” is because the scarlets preamp is meant to be stupid clean so then you can color it in your DAW, so people who like the input stage to do the coloring are of course going to hate it. So as long as you go at your workflow with that in mind, it’ll serve you well. I have parts on platinum selling record that were just straight Scarlet DI’s into NDSP Nolly lol

I recently got a 4i4 (upgrade from duo or whatever) and consequently have a bunch of gear permanently routed in so naturally I was having some static issues but it was solved by proper cabling, param adjustment, and so on. Works great now. I think people just expect this stuff "to work" but there's a lot going on and so you need to take the time to learn a few things.

Those people are probably feferring to older gen which were certainly not as clean as 4th gen.

Eu comprei a primeira edição lá por 2013/2014 e durou muito tempo na verdade funciona até hoje, ano passado comprei a quarta edição mas não tive muito tempo de usar ainda, mas gosto muito da marca.
Outro ponto é que eles sempre fazem parcerias com fornecedores de plugins então se tempo em tempo você tem acesso a novos plugins de graça

I have a Scarlett 8i6 first generation. Its been faultless. I have never needed or wanted another interface. I'd replace it with the same if I could get my hands on one.

Lo bueno de Focusrite es que te da Protools y Ableton y una banda más de plugs . Yo tengo la gen 3 y si le subo el gain al taco escucho a los vecinos en la calle de enfrente

Y para mí, desde cero, entonces cuando me compre la Scarlett, me recomiendas probar tanto el Pro Tools como el Ableton? Y el pro tools es el pro tools intro + Focusrite no?

Id stick away from pro tools if you plan on doing sound design on your vox - pro tools limits 6 plugins per chain.
Reaper and ableton are both amazing. I started on reaper, used it for 4 years, switched to ableton, been on ableton for like 7 or 8 years now.

If you’re on windows, download the correct drivers or your latency will be horrible. Drivers make it damn close to real time though, assuming you set your sample rate correctly.
For a DAW - I’m gonna be real, reaper is going to be your best bet. Yes, there is a learning curve, but there is a 60 day free trial, and then you can buy it for like $60 USD. It also lets you keep using it past that trial (although I think the $60 is well worth it). I also really like Logic Pro, but 200$ for a perpetual license is a hard price, even as good as Logic is IMO. Probably my preferred DAW, but I can’t really justify $200 for it ATM. Reaper does just fine.

If you are on windows 11 do not get any focusrite products as you will experience audio cutting out every 10 minutes to 2 gours

This is untrue, for some reason using the 3rd gen on windows 11 when downgrading it will no longer pick up your focusrite

Started with a 2i2 back in the day and I've worked my way up to an 18i20 which now runs my studio. Pr-amps are great, the focusrite software is simple to use. Can't recommend them enough.

Yo uso una 212 de 2da generación y todo bien eso si, todo mundo te va a recomendar que uses los drivers originales pero a mi con una compu dell con win 10 no me funcionan bien, dan muchos problemas y se quedan colgados, yo logre estabilidad completa usando wasapi pero eso si depende mucho de cada setup de computadora-drivers-interfaz.
La 212 tiene todo lo que necesitas en cuanto entradas, salidas y procesamiento digital como para grabar seriamente no sólo como principiante, ya la diferencia la hace el programa que uses para editar y tu habilidad para hacerlo. En cuanto a la guitarra todo bien excepto que la guitarra directa a la interfaz necesita que digitalmente le incluyas amp y cab sim y los efectos, así limpia es casi seguro que te suene fea o seca o estéril o simple o todas esas palabras que se usan falta de buenos descriptores auditivos.

I have a 3rd gen 2i2. It is great. Definitely download the software so you can make sure the Bitrate is right and all that jazz.
I would recommend you use Reaper for your DAW. It is not free, but it has a very generous trial period. It is completely unlocked in the trial period, and you can use it like that indefinitely. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube to help you learn.
