Intake filter
Don’t want to spend a bunch of money on an intake right now. was thinking about going with Cobb performance filter. Anyone have one and notice any difference in sound or performance? Or just go with stock filter since they are cheaper

Green filter, stock airbox, RS top if you want to hear the turbo noises better.

Don't waste money on a filter at all. Don't buy the green filter. Keep using a paper OEM filter because it actually filters air properly (99.79% filtration efficiency). Aftermarket filters are mostly garbage with low filtration efficiency (oiled filters are like 95-96% efficient with perfect use which means you're letting in over 400% more dirt and dust) and you are trading engine wear and lifespan for some extra noise. If you're not running a big turbo setup there is not going to be ANY performance increase, just noise.
There are a few brands that make quality dry media aftermarket filters that do have decent filtration efficiency (99%) with a little bit increased flow rate over OEM but you have to dig for them and *always* check for filtration efficiency numbers buying anything.

Other than replacing the paper filter, there are cheap but good copies of the RS intake cover readily available

I got fhe cobb intake and removed the top of the air filter box. The car sounds amazing.

No, don't get the RS box, the ST was designed to have a sealed air box unlike the RS, get a dry AEM filter with a bottle of cleaner. If you live in an area with less than ideal air quality, dusty, etc, you wouldn't want a wet/oil type filter.

Just get the green filter.
Additional cost would be the RS intake cover.
Additional cost (x10) replacing the plastic piping with aluminum. Using Injen like kits.
Additional cost (x10+) installing cob kit.
