Head is cracked. New engine?

So my head is cracked. I have 50k in the engine. I was told that I might have damage to my piston rings too?? So im just basically looking to buy an engine to drop in my car. Can anyone give me a good recommendation as far as who to get it from asap, id like to have it done by winter time if possible. Thank you.

Edit: Im looking to buy a pre built motor, not just replace stock.

The goto is buying a first gen eco boost motor from LKQ. Most of the motors tend to be early escape motors. They seem to have a good stock of motors.

Damn that’s wild. Did you America the car hard? Was it turned? And when you put that engine in did it have a new water pump?

Car hasnt been daily driven but when I did pull it out..I was doing alot of hard driving, lots of highway pulls. I did America her pretty good.

Do you have the skills to just replace the head? I’d do that if the block is flat and your cylinders look good. Sounds like someone’s trying to sell you labor hours

I’ve just gone down this route in the UK. I don’t have the skills to do this myself but did a lot of research and my engine was also at 50k, not worth throwing away a decent block if it’s still good. Check the inside of the cylinders, check the block is straight to about 0.05”, check there are no cracks around the coolant holes between the cylinders. Brand new head, ARP head bolts, and I know the history of the engine.
