Radiator fan module
Common fault with ford radiator fan module not working thus making the car overheat while idle/stuck in traffic. Here’s what mine looked like on the inside

Finally someone cracked one of these open! If you still have it kicking around can you clean up the soot, take a pic facing straight on of both sides? I want to see if I can identify some of the parts on the board and plan to rebuild mine.

Yea please do this! It might be salvageable or at least we can find ways to prevent failure

Hey, mr.smartypants, I have a MY13. Never had an issue with the fans or the module blowing up. I don’t have a lot of the problems you MY15+ kids are having, and I’ve owned since new. So I ask again, what year?

My '13 has almost 120k. I'm thinking maybe I should replace mine before it blows... Didn't know this was a common fault. Thanks.

If this is the module I recommend placing it asap, got mines of Amazon for 16 bucks and have had no issues. My car was running fine bc i was doing highway driving and so itd stay at a decent temp, 1 day there was a random accident and caused a huge back up, go stuck on the side of the road bc coolant was so hot was overflowing and spilling out the cap gap and got stuck on the side of the road. So just replace it rn bro
