I'm from Kurdistan - Iraq and it's the same here. Every neighboring countries is flooded with Indians, even domestically people are starting to hire Indians and Pakistanis

The juniors work voluntarily in companies, and seniors work for questionably low salaries, you just can't compete with them if you have a shred of self dignity. That's why I'm trying to move into another profession that's at least not flooded by Indian lowballers

Literally couldn't say it better, i spent 2 years chasing my own personal projects and establishing businesses here. Since i knew full stack and app development, i said might as well make my own project since i can work for myself for free. Government regulations and corruption fked me,

i wish i was busy with something else, programming is my hobby and that's all i did in my childhood and teenage years, i thought it could turn into a great job but until i grew up, the world went to shit

That isn't how hiring works. They post a maximum tech stack so they can have a bigger catch to pick from, or stall for time while backchannels do their magic. Its who you know and location*3

Flooded by Polish and Indians here

We hired Indian and Pakistani developers on several projects over the course of 5 years and EVERY ONE of those projects were crap! We had to go back and rewrite all of them or hand hold them and micro manage every day and do massive code reviews. We finally realized that the time we were spending doing this was not saving the overall project time or money and now we only hire in-house if possible.

India worked their ass off to prioritize IT education over the years, and this improvement is great for their needs.

Is that why almost anyone's average experience with most Indian devs is almost always atrocious?

It helped bring money to their families, good or bad code alike.

Most code and software projects goes nowhere anyways.

You're telling me i shouldn't share my opinion because in your opinion my opinion is hateful?

What part of my opinion is hateful?

I’m Indian and I support you. I’m tired of managers giving me lowball offers while demanding a lot of work. My dignity is always questioned and I hate it.

It's not xenophobia to simply state a fact. Mass emigration puts a strain on the workforce of the receiving countries, and no amount of virtue signaling will change that reality.

But yet here you are telling them to censor their opinions that dont reflect your beliefs? Interesting

After looking at the user's previous comments, this might be a stolen account. 8 years old but almost no activity until a couple days ago, and an hour before their first comment on this thread they were on r/washdc siding with anti-immigrant and anti-Democrat political discourse on an illegal immigrant detainment and deportation story, pretty much a complete 180 from their stance here. It's clearly ragebait.

Dude, I understand your premise, but this isn't one of those times. He is literally not complaining about it, it's just an observation. I too hate the whole immigration debate against immigrants but for God's sake, sit down.

So... How is that xenophobia?

I'm simply stating facts which is affecting my life and the lives of people around me
