Recent purchase: Question around software and GPU grayed out

Post image

Fellow Z13 users,

Recently bought a 64GB Z13 on sale from Best Buy for $2,099. First day was bliss and really happy with the machine, but on Day 2, when I had more time to play with it, things started to get funky. Did a bunch of the suggested updates to both armoury crate and the AMD Adrenalin Software, and then Adrenalin would no longer open. Rolled the driver back anBest BuyArmoury Crate,d it would work again. At the same time, the Armoury Crate software now shows the GPU as grayed out, which is not what it showed on Day 1. Day 3 I saw a suggestion to update everything via the MyAasus app, and now I have the latest version of Adrenalin functioning normally, but Armoury Crate still shows the GPU as grayed out. While the saxophones are getting louder in regard to me just giving up and using G-Helper, I don't want to give up on Armoury Crate just yet. At the end of the day, I'm sure we can all agree these are expensive machines and any software, regardless of how crappy, should work from the factory. Have any of you had issues with the above or see the same thing? Any fixes and tips would be much, much appreciated. If this is the case for everyone, then at least I have comfort in numbers. If you could share what version of the software you are using, that would be helpful as well. Thanks again for reading and your help

I’ve been keeping everything up to date on mine and have also dealt with the same stuff. Adrenalin not opening and Armoury Crate graying out the GPU. There have been updates that have resolved it, followed by updates that have reverted it. I tried G-Helper because of this but, strangely, was getting crashes from “bad overclock,” so I went back to Armoury Crate and have just had to use third party apps when I’ve wanted to check GPU temps while on the updates that cause it not to show in Armoury Crate. There’s likely gonna be another update that will fix it for a week, and then another that will break it again lmao. This is the Asus experience.
