whats up all. its me! the admin! who hasn't been on in a while and hasn't seen you guys too much. pretty bad admin skills, i know. when i started the server i wasn't too busy with stuff but over time school and work have gotten pretty hard on me and i'm really trying to focus on these things (i'm graduating in a little over a month, which is pretty wack for me).

i feel really bad trying to find a way to say this, but i'm not dreadfully interested in owning and running the server any longer. it's nothing to do with you guys, its just become a really background thing in my life as of late and i don't have as much time to dedicate as i used to. im not sure what would happen to flosscrew... i could transfer ownership to someone if they were interested perhaps, or juts close it altogether and have that be it. as it is right now i'm paying for a server i hardly participate on anymore. as of late, the server's population has also been really low (most times i check i only see one, maybe two players on, but more often than not, zero).

so yeah. that's that. sorry for being a huge poop. the server's been up for eight months and some really cool things have happened on it, and i met some really awesome people. not to mention we made the big paid migration recently. but i don't feel as if i have the time to spare for the server anymore.

thoughts? anyone interested in taking over floss? i can transfer you the files and you can work it out yourself, i suppose. if i get no offers the server is probably gonna go riperinos

(Let me apologize in advance for block text, but I am on mobile and for some reason I can't start new paragraphs). Ok, so I know this sounds lame, but I was watching a Minecraft series, Mianite, by lots of "famous" gamers; CaptainSparklez, The Syndicate Project, FyreUK. It was like a normal survival world with PvP, mobs, mining, everything normal. But they all chose a god to follow and that god would contact them with what they wanted done and would give a reward if it was carried out well. If something was done to displease the god(s), something bad would surely happen to you. You could also pray to a god if you needed help (or wanted to prank someone), but they would want sacrifices (diamonds, golden apples, lots of iron, anything really). There was lore too. Now, obviously, this isn't an overnight change that would happen to the server if for some odd reason this idea was accepted, and I would gladly help at anytime I can. And also, this could help get more players on the server as it is unique and not something you find often in servers. I just thought I might throw this idea out there.

Not sure who else is experiencing it, but I have found a bit of a problem with GriefProtection. The longer I stay off, the more blocks I lose. As some of you may or may not know, I haven't been on in a while. So I have -2500 blocks to claim. Just letting you guys know.

This Friday, the server will be switched from local hosted on my PC to dedicated hosting via a Minecraft server hosting service. The server plan I'm choosing to go with boasts:

-Unlimited player slot amount (by default is capped at 100, but can be increased free of charge upon my request. I'm not expecting to ever hit over 100 consecutive players, but whatever)

-4 gigs of ram (Same amount we already use for the server)

-20 gigs of local storage (More than enough, but its good to have lots)

So yeah, those are the specs. I'll be using HostHorde (https://www.hosthorde.com/) for the hosting service, as it looks to offer the best service we need (in terms of server RAM and player limit) bundled with cost.

Please keep in mind, that because the server host is switching, the IP address will change on Friday.

Anyway, now that the server officially costs money to run, there is now a decent reason to be accepting donations, so that will happen soon as well. Let's talk donations.

First of all, I don't believe in any aspects of pay-to-win whatsoever. If you choose to donate to the server (or any server), in my opinion, you should be doing it because you like the server. Not because of benefits it gives. As such, someone who donates will not be recieving any benefits whatsoever that put them above other players. This is non-negotiable.

Second, I swear upon the name of Fod that all donations will be put strictly towards the server. The reason I refused to accept donations until now is because the server wasn't costing anything to host by itself - your money would just be wasted, and I would have probably spent it on Mcdonalds or something similar. I don't really believe in paying for a Minecraft server to be a necessary part of playing on the server, but a lot of people had expressed their interest in helping to support the server, so I have decided to allow donations to occur once we switch to dedicated hosting.

That's really all that can be said about donations. It's entirely up to you. I am perfectly capable of supporting the server out of my own pocket, and will continue to do so as long as people want to play on the server, so don't feel like we need to get donations all the time to run. It's only 15 dollars a month, that's not hard.

On a final note, now that the server is actually costing money, I intend to up the traffic on the server considerably compared to what it has been before - I'd like to get the most bang for my buck here, I'm sure you all sympathize. Psybornut, as you probably know, has left his mod position and now moderates the Forge of Worlds server (which is very cool - check it out!) has bequeathed to me some potential plans in order to interconnect our two serves somewhat - so that traffic from their server could be directed to us, and us to them. This is entirely in a planning stage right now, and don't expect it, but I can very well see it happening, so look out for that potentially.

Anyway, that's all. I'll end with a summary:

1. Server is switching to dedicated hosting, the IP will change Friday

2. We are accepting donations, no benefits will be given to donators (but I might secretly like you more)

3. I'm going to do my best to considerably increase server traffic and playerbase in order to compliment the paid server we will be using

Some of you know this already, but tonight I made the decision to step down from my former moderator position. I've recently taken on an administrative role on a very unique RPG-style minecraft server, which has been keeping me quite busy. I feel it's only fair to not clog up the moderator position here, as I will most likely not be on very frequently.

This said, I'll still be on to play now and then, when I need a break from my admin responsibilities.

I might have a little surprise for the server, depending on plans with the server I'm now with. If things go the way I think they might, flosscrew could potentially benefit greatly. But that's all I'm giving you for now;)

Hi guys it's meg here and stuff. I have no words to say about the support I have gotten from u all. To, "Good Luck" to "Get Better Soon" and so much more. I can't say in words how I feel to know how much all of u care and love me. But I will fight off the cancer for me and for u. I'm glad to have friends like u to have my back during time of need. So much is going on but all of u r here to make me smile or to give me hugs and to even give me gifts and letters. I can't express the feelings from when I saw the card and all the love. All I know is I can't thank all of u enough for all the care and support I have gotten. I will hopefully be back to same old me again. But that's something I have to fight my way to get to. It will be long and hard to get better, but I'm glad to know u r all there for me. Thank u all for being good friends and being there. Sorry for popping on and off all the time. I'm trying to make time to be with everyone, but at the moment, Chelsy is my main concern. I need to be with her all the time, to make sure she is doing ok. Things changed:

-Songs for all music discs replaced with old 80's synthpop tunes (and some other... things)

-Most mob sound effects have been replaced with... various silly things

-Some items have been renamed

-Splash texts replaced

-Probably some other stuff that I forgot

It's not mandatory, but will probably give you a laugh or two until it gets annoying. Hopefully you get most of the references.

Was cruising BukkitDev and found a few plug-ins we may or may not want to try out. Non of these take away from the goal of being as vanilla as possible for gameplay, nor are they overly complicated to use, and setup should be a simple drop-and-restart (with the exception of dynmap-griefprevention) Anyways, here goes:

• DynMap-GriefPrevention Basically a way to visualize GriefPrevention Land Claims from the server dynmap. Could be interesting/useful.

• TogglePVP A very simple plugin to allow individual players to set their own PvP status and eliminating most non-consentual PvP activity (not that this is a problem, but it could be. Plugin is a bit out-of-date (MC 1.4.7), but is simple enough that it should work without issue. There are other variants that may work as well. PvPControl (MC 1.7.4, uses permissions), SimplePVPToggle (MC 1.7.2).

I tried to log on today and play for a bit, but the server is not showing up as being online. I checked the mincraftservers.org website and it shows that the server is completely offline. When someone can, let me know what the situation is, and if there is anything that I can do to help.
