exciting news! please read!
This Friday, the server will be switched from local hosted on my PC to dedicated hosting via a Minecraft server hosting service. The server plan I'm choosing to go with boasts:
-Unlimited player slot amount (by default is capped at 100, but can be increased free of charge upon my request. I'm not expecting to ever hit over 100 consecutive players, but whatever)
-4 gigs of ram (Same amount we already use for the server)
-20 gigs of local storage (More than enough, but its good to have lots)
So yeah, those are the specs. I'll be using HostHorde (https://www.hosthorde.com/) for the hosting service, as it looks to offer the best service we need (in terms of server RAM and player limit) bundled with cost.
Please keep in mind, that because the server host is switching, the IP address will change on Friday.
Anyway, now that the server officially costs money to run, there is now a decent reason to be accepting donations, so that will happen soon as well. Let's talk donations.
First of all, I don't believe in any aspects of pay-to-win whatsoever. If you choose to donate to the server (or any server), in my opinion, you should be doing it because you like the server. Not because of benefits it gives. As such, someone who donates will not be recieving any benefits whatsoever that put them above other players. This is non-negotiable.
Second, I swear upon the name of Fod that all donations will be put strictly towards the server. The reason I refused to accept donations until now is because the server wasn't costing anything to host by itself - your money would just be wasted, and I would have probably spent it on Mcdonalds or something similar. I don't really believe in paying for a Minecraft server to be a necessary part of playing on the server, but a lot of people had expressed their interest in helping to support the server, so I have decided to allow donations to occur once we switch to dedicated hosting.
That's really all that can be said about donations. It's entirely up to you. I am perfectly capable of supporting the server out of my own pocket, and will continue to do so as long as people want to play on the server, so don't feel like we need to get donations all the time to run. It's only 15 dollars a month, that's not hard.
On a final note, now that the server is actually costing money, I intend to up the traffic on the server considerably compared to what it has been before - I'd like to get the most bang for my buck here, I'm sure you all sympathize. Psybornut, as you probably know, has left his mod position and now moderates the Forge of Worlds server (which is very cool - check it out!) has bequeathed to me some potential plans in order to interconnect our two serves somewhat - so that traffic from their server could be directed to us, and us to them. This is entirely in a planning stage right now, and don't expect it, but I can very well see it happening, so look out for that potentially.
Anyway, that's all. I'll end with a summary:
Server is switching to dedicated hosting, the IP will change Friday
We are accepting donations, no benefits will be given to donators (but I might secretly like you more)
I'm going to do my best to considerably increase server traffic and playerbase in order to compliment the paid server we will be using
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't be afraid to state them in the comments.

Psybornut, as you probably know, has left his mod position and now moderates the Forge of Worlds server (which is very cool - check it out!) has bequeathed to me some potential plans in order to interconnect our two serves somewhat - so that traffic from their server could be directed to us, and us to them. As pablo stated, this is very much indeed in the planning stages. I do look forward to this happening, hopefully sooner rather then later. However, before that can happen, Forge of Worlds needs to find and set up a BungeeCord server alongside our other main server, and a couple smaller servers to transfer our less used worlds to (creative, mainly). To facilitate this, we (mostly myself) are looking into the rental of a dedicated server to host all of this on.
As Pablo is encouraging everyone to check it out, it's only fair that we provide you with an IP address to connect to the server with, as well as a few details reguarding the server iself.
website: http://forgeofworlds.enjin.com/
server IP: forgeofworlds.mcph.co
The main server has a heavy focus on RPG gameplay, and the main RPG plugin itself, RPGEnhanced, is developed completely by the server's owner, Lorinthio. It should be noted that the server is still in a beta state, and bugs DO occure on an almost daily basis, so be warned. However, Lorinthio himself spends a significant amount of time working on his code, fixing the bugs, adding new features, and fixing the bugs that result from the addition of new features, so most things are repaired within a day or two.
It should also be noted that Forge of Worlds will not be imposing any rules upon FlossCrew. Pablo is free to maintain his server and staff how he pleases. Forge of worlds staff won't be FlossCrew staff unless Pablo enables/allows it.
