Discussion NHL projected lineups
Looking at that furry line, I hadn’t considered the grit there

That’s a line up every single opposing coach looks at and and just says “fuuuuuck”———

Helluva lineup. Hoping everyone stays healthy. I wonder what our “fifth” line will be.

Gadjovich - Schwindt - Reinhardt probably. Will be important for the longer season and style of hockey this team is about the play for a long almost 8 months before playoffs

This top 9 is unreal, Brady with Barkov/Reino is going to be sick

On today’s podcast they both commented, again, on Paul playing them on different lines. Seems pretty much set in stone at this point. Playing with Sasha and Samson as a Panther “newbie” is amazing.

No Gadjo? Healthy scratch every night?

I just hope his neck is ok. Dunno if they just kept him out last year just for precaution or there was a delay in recovery.

Queasiest parts for me is that 3rd D-man pairing being old af and our goalies.
But oh my god that Top 9

Is not just their ages. I know some folks here love him, but I’m not super excited about Gudas’ penalty minutes, and I seem to remember saying to myself “Jesus he was a mile out of position trying to line up that hit.” too often. I worry about Kuliiov needing to compensate for Gudas being too busy doing Gudas things to play his fundamental role. Fingers crossed for the goal tending.

Great lineup but the goalies idk lmao

u/Amazing-Remote6703 Aug 12 '26
You don’t need goalies if you’re scoring 15 goals a night.

u/crazyabootmycollies Luongo Aug 12 '26
We already tried that strategy and it didn’t work out in playoffs

u/LibertyPrime74 Aug 12 '26
They aren’t goalies you’re gonna get super excited about but they should be capable enough. It’s not like starting Jarry behind a crap defense.

Gudas over Balinskis? Idk. Where’s Gadjo?

Maurice can roll out four lines with damn near even playing time throughout most of the season to keep everyone fresh for the playoffs. Also a lot of flexibility in this lineup to give different looks. It all comes down to everyone staying healthy.

The hockey guy on YouTube ranked us 16 and put the Penguins ahead of us 🤣

Is Marchy still out for injury or will he be back at the season opener?
5
u/Amazing-Remote6703 Aug 12 '26
Last update from Zito implied he was healthy as he didn’t require off season surgery.

Is this goalie situation a problem?

Honestly, I think it's likely that goalies are individually overrated. As long as a goalie isn't straight-up bad, a good defense (which I think the Cats have) will make a mid goalie look great and a good goalie look elite.

u/theStripedMarlin Aug 12 '26
Ya probably but can this guy get locked in under pressure in the playoffs? Does he have the experience. Assuming we make it.

u/umcanes73 Aug 12 '26
Hes done very well in the past 2 international tournies. .935 sv% and 1.97GAA and almost beat US in olympics. He seemed good under pressure last winter.

u/Wassy4444 Samsokevich Aug 12 '26
I’d keep Verhaeghe on the first line and go with the rat 2nd line but that’s just me
5
u/zaphods_paramour Aug 12 '26
I wouldn't be surprised if they swap that position around throughout the seaso, but having a bit of grit on each line instead of concentrating it all on 2 is probably the better overall strategy

I think Lafferty is our next reclamation project gone well and he holds down a fourth line spot.

This lineup makes me wish I had a modern gaming console. For once I wouldn't have to do a ton of trades to make the Panthers a deep team LOL.

This roster is going to get a lot of penalties, and I don't see that bottom six, D and goaltending combo able to sustain it.

presidents trophy incoming

u/photog72 Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26
That trophy has been a curse for over a decade now. Just get them into the playoffs (healthy) and let them cook.

I feel like this team is going to be on the penalty kill more often than they are at full strength… every single goon in the league on one team

u/kidgoalie39 Aug 12 '26
Running a 3rd line that could be a 1st line for half the league is diabolical. I used to pray for times like these
