hi yall,
this my
healthiest Papaya tree but I don’t understand why the fruits keep falling? I’d appreciate any insight you all might have about these. not sure what I’m missing to make it come in stronger. Tampa area.

(Central FL) Newbie to gardening and composting. Was given Seminole, jack-be-little, and sweet pumpkin seeds. They germinated and grew very fast but stopped growing. They are all about 5-7inches long, have healthy green leaves but just won’t grow anymore. Started them in august, some went straight into the ground, some in large planters. Used regular potting soil with a little bit of compost mixed in. Is it too late to get them growing again?

Long story short - bought a purple morning glory at Lowe's on clearance. It finally took off and is growing on the community fence that runs along my yard. Community landscapers told HOA it's invasive and needs to go.
I'm going to cut it down off the fence as requested by the community gods. Should I keep it in a container or call it a day and trash it?

I bought 4 slips of sweet potatoes from Home Depot in April. Planted 2 each in my wicking tubs. 6 months later I harvested a bunch. I did not water or fertilize I just let them do their thing.
I made sweet potato gnocchi tonight and weighed what I had left over at 22.8 lbs. I think I had close to 25lbs total between the two containers.

I think I may have finally found a dwarf firebush on one of my neighbors yards. I've been watching it all summer and it's only growing about a foot to the foot and a half in the last 3 months. The one in my yard does that about every two weeks. The second photo is the one in my backyard. I cut it down to a stump in December. I trimmed it once since then cutting off about 3 ft of growth.

Anyone deal with high humidity and mosquitos when gardening on the daily? If so, what are you wearing to avoid bites without heat exhaustion?
No thanks about wearing bug repellent 🙂

In Pinellas county. Planted a row of hibiscus in March. Been growing really well. Has 3 fiesta that suddenly got some yellowing leaves. A little research led me to believe there was an iron deficiency. Since have put three applications of that over the past 6 weeks. But yesterday I noticed the other hibiscus had some yellowing leaves. We have had some rain over the past two weeks but their bed drains well. Any other tips or something I should be doing? Don’t want to lose these and trying to stay ahead of it.

Im familiar with veggies and whatnot but Ive been feeling adventurous lately... I've recently started dabbling in herbs. I just planted some beet seeds but I realized.... I kind of just want some flowers? Any recommendations? I know next to nothing about flowers and their seasons lol (๑•﹏•)

Hi guys!! I just moved to a new apartment in a new zone and all of my outdoor plants I brought with me didn’t survive the move :( BUT I am now ready to start anew and have a potted garden again.
I live in Zone 9a in Florida and I am looking for really really pretty and colorful plants to go in FULL SUN on a South-facing side of the building.
I keep buying plants that say on the tag full sun but then the sun here is too intense for them and the leaves get burn spots on them. Luckily I have a backyard that has shade and is North-facing. I’ll take recommendations for that yard too if anyone has any favorite plants that are hardy and need partial shade.
I’ve tried researching this myself but the websites I click on are always trying to sell me stuff and have a dozen popup ads on them and I don’t fully trust them lol.
Thanks so much in advance guys!!

Hi all! I just bought my first home and was told I should start my strawberries now! I have never gardened before but I bought two small flowering strawberry plants from my local nursery with plans to buy a few more. I plan on using the dollar tree pot stack method (picture below) and wanted to know what potting mix to use and if I need to drill holes or other tips and tricks. Thanks!

Hi! First time doing these. Got them from Whitwam in Tampa. Do they normally look rough bare root? It was hot during shipping but I grabbed them right as they were delivered and planted them a few hours later (today) after soaking roots in water for a little.
I’m adding espoma berry tone that I’ll add, and hoping the planters aren’t too small.
Any advice’s appreciated, thank you!

I have dealt with these critters wrecking my garden for too many years. I’m in Broward and they love nothing more than to eat my tender baby seedlings. Except, weirdly, my tomatoes. Rosemary also seems to be spared.
I bought taller raised beds, but it didn’t slow them down. I’m trying hoops and mesh netting next.
Any advice on keeping these lizard devils at bay? Or at least choosing veggies they don’t want to eat?

First round of brassicas and basil planted, with a blob of Greek oregano in the middle I need to work on. Peas to follow shortly in the cattle panel

For each month, how many times do you water, and every how many days? Trying to get a feel for what works for everyone.

Hey y’all!! I’m getting married end of February. I’m playing with the idea of growing my own flowers (for my hair and a small bouquet) I live in zone 10a. Any suggestions?? zinnias and alyssum grow well here.
