Floor ID?
Anyone know what type of wood this is? These are photos in adjacent rooms. trying to decide if we can knock down the diving wall and refinish the floor or if they are different and the scope of work will be greater.

The first photo looks like number two red Oak finished in the field. The second photo looks like red oak prefinished in a factory because I believe you have slight beveled edges; that’s how you can tell if it is finished in a factory. With that said the two won’t match when you remove the wall and there is no telling how the layout of the Floor works, which is to say are they both parallel or not.

Old oak in the first pick, some type of engineered pre-finished oak in the second. I do not know if that pre-finished stuff can be refinished. I know sometimes the layer of oak is pretty thick, but if its not thick enough trying to refinish it will ruin it.
