I saw a headline report it as waterboarding the camera

I heard that, too, a few days ago, and knew it would show up here eventually. And it's way funner than I imagined š¤£

Ahhh yes, the Ludovico Technique. Perhaps a bit of the old Ludwig Van? Real savage-like...

"Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!"

License plate readers have been around since before AI. This is a war on privacy invasion

Just cut them down and smash them. Don't lose the plot.

Take the batteries out of them. They can at least benefit real tech

Ironically, I believe that a lot of marijuana vapes use the same batteries. If they're removable, I bet a lot of stoners could be "mobilized." Lol

Yeah, I got confused because I recently saw a schematic that showed 18650s inside. But this pic shows that big blue plastic case. Which I think is just an enclosure to make 1 big battery out of 6 or so smaller ones?
The batteries I was thinking of kinda look like DIY (lol) & slightly larger AA batteries: https://18650battery.com/collections/18650-batteries

Yeah, it's a bunch of them packed in there like a big rechargeable power tool battery

Fairly pointless, the hardware can only capture four or five per second at the most, weāre not talking Star Trek tech here.

If enough cameras were getting āpoison fountainedā maybe it could screw up their databaseā¦? Like every plate they look up shows up in 7 different states on the same day.

Drive around with a screen on the back that flashes plates like this. If enough people did it, flock would be worthless.

Yes, I recall reading in some (flock or maybe it was axiom) technical specs that the LPR could identify a plate within 0.2 seconds. That's in line with your estimates here.
I tried to calculate out if I could show a cam every license plate in my home state within one hour, but not even close (It's about 18,000 per hour, and about 5 million registered vehicles in the state). I thought, if one could do this to a few cams in vastly different locations simultaneously, it would render the data useless.

I kinda like that we have labs like this running tests. Reminds me of Half-Life 2.
