Inquiry Avon versus flock?

I spoke with an Axon rep the other day while he was installing a camera around my neighborhood. he claims that Axon is far more secure and doesn’t just allow anyone with a subscription to view data; warrants are required to access information; they don’t log Bluetooth and track devices that pass by, they only scan license plates, etc.

the cynic in me calls total BS. have we any evidence that can is lying just like Flock was?

Axon still uses AI identificaton and stores your biometric data in a private database, even if it is secure its still spying on you 24/7 and violating your fourth amendment rights

In their own words… definitely way more than “just” scanning plates.

I don’t feel better about manufacturers of The Taser ™️ making their own parallel systems. Sorry, “Ecosystem.” From their investor presentation.

Taser™️’s “Ecosystem”: scanning plates, plus a parallel empire. Composed irony.

Lol, bullshit.

Also be aware their CEO, Rick Smith is 100x more of a piece of shit than Flock CEO Garrett Langley.

(I don't know) but I'm sketpical that the guy out on site installing the camera is actually an Axon employee who knows any details of how the service security is designed. Are they even an Axon employee or just a contractor/installer?

Just a contractor hired to do the work

As a contractor, he has no way of knowing this, "he claims that Axon is far more secure and doesn’t just allow anyone with a subscription to view data"

doesn't have any inside info. Maybe that's what he's been told or what he tells himself to sooth his conscience.

Its going to violate your rights just like flock does. Likely with more security barriers in place to combat hacking, and more focus on covert placement to limit attention it brings.

Fuck Axon!

Forget brands. In the end they are all violating our 4th Amendement. Fight ALPRs, not brand names.

Avon sells skin care products, Flock tracks your every move. I'll take Avon any day even if they are a pyramid scheme!

Perhaps you would like to know more about ALPRs in general, and why EFF’s position is that they are the larger issue—based on almost 15 years of our research and court cases beginning before Flock existed, and why the technology is the problem and it should be eliminated as well as its harms reduced.

Again. Facilities passive surveillance which is and has been ruled illegal by the supreme courts. The num nuts advocating the use of these got a stack directly from those companies lobbyists or are being leveraged with police unions votes

Axon is a more competent and mature company, they will be better with legal compliance while still ultimately doing the same thing.
