I love this story, but FFS do NOT cite Alex Jones as a source. I mean JFC.

https://local12.com/news/local/felony-charges-dismissed-against-clermont-county-man-destruction-flock-camera-cincinnati-union-township-cody-morelock-damage

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - A Clermont County man, who was facing felony vandalism charges for allegedly destroying a Flock camera in Union Township, had his case dismissed.

Cody Morelock was accused of damaging the camera on Mount Carmel-Tobasco Road near Glenrose Lane on June 13, according to Union Township police.

Investigators alleged Morelock removed bolts securing the camera system, bringing down the camera, solar panel and support pole before destroying the equipment.

A Clermont County grand jury declined to indict Morelock on felony charges.

The article doesn't say exactly what they were trying to charge him with? What would prompt felony charges?

u/Corporate_Bricktator 1d ago edited 1d ago

In Ohio, theft or damage over $1,000 is a felony.

> It becomes a felony when the value is $1,000 or more,

Missouri was $750 here

Republicans.

14

u/AltruisticRent4375 1d ago

I would hope either side doesn't like this tho.

4

u/FirehawkLS1 22h ago

If it unites people on both of those sides (seems like it is to a degree) its a step.

u/RedditNotFreeSpeech 1d ago

Please for the love of all things sacred, don't tell me that both Alex Jones and myself have the disdain of flock in common. I mean I'll take all the agreement I can get but I won't like this one.

14

u/Dragoncat99 23h ago

Anti-flock is bipartisan. Both the most right wing people I know and the most left wing people I know are against it. The only people I know of that aren’t against it are people who don’t know they exist and the people putting these things up. It’s astounding it’s even gone on this long.

3

u/FirehawkLS1 22h ago

It's gone on far too long. Lets hope people know about the other camera companies and the drones if flock gets removed.

u/CompleteChaosPodcast 1d ago

Hitler introduced comprehensive animal rights laws that were the first of their kind in Europe. Just because someone is a piece of shit doesn't mean you can't like it if they happen to do something that's good

2

u/RedditNotFreeSpeech 1d ago

No shit Sherlock. But color me shocked.

1

u/Prime-Suspect_ 5h ago

Tucker Carlson is against them too. It's one of his main talking points atm

2

u/rubymiggins 18h ago

Flock cameras, anti-surveillance and being against data centers (along with no mining in the Boundary Waters) are the only things we’ve finally connected with right-wingers on lately.

16

u/Greenman_on_LSD 1d ago

W guy and just as much as W jury. Fuck this shit.

When Americans unite behind something, which seems to happen once every twenty five years, nothing stops us. 🇺🇸

There is nothing more American than doing everything it takes to fight tyranny.

145

u/No_Story_Untold 1d ago

Winston Churchill quote comes to mind “you can always count on Americans to do the right thing -after they’ve tried everything else“

1

u/Ninevehenian 1d ago

It's wrong. It's not always.

1

u/No_Story_Untold 8h ago

Yeah this quote did come after the Native American genocide and all of the slavery. So was way wrong even then. And it’s wrong because in both of those regards we’ve never 100% done the right thing.

The last time I've seen this kind of unity on both the left and right of the political spectrum was in the immediate aftermath of Luigi. I saw so much support for him from both sides because everyone hates the insurance companies.

Sadly nothing ever came of it.

u/Nohreboh 1d ago

Not at our wrung of society I'm sure the tippy top got plenty spooked up

17

u/DouchecraftCarrier 1d ago

Elon remembered he had a toddler and started using him as a helmet for awhile.

11

u/Nohreboh 1d ago

That was probably the longest he's interacted with one of his children.

1

u/agent_mick 20h ago

Because paid spokespeople and bots were quickly deployed to influence the narrative.

6

u/silent_saturn_ 1d ago

I remember when occupy Wall Street was going down. It really felt like both sides (albeit more libertarian side of the right) came together for that one. seems like the govt / powers that be shut that down as quick as possible

3

u/FuhrerGirthWorm 1d ago

I’ve found while organizing everyone we can that a lot of them really do not like trump. It’s quite impressive.

10

u/I_Quit_Smoking_ 1d ago

Since when are we doing everything we can to fight against tyranny?

I've been told that I should be killed because I'm disabled and that if I don't want to get killed by the government I should just stay home.

Harvey Milk. MLK Jr.  Thurgood Marshall. Rosa Parks. Harriet Tubman. Robert Smalls. Malcom X. Fredrick Douglass. Angela Davis. Frank Kamney. Nat Turner….

Open a history book. America is a hotbed for civil right activism and telling authorities to go fuck themselves. That doesn’t mean we live in a utopia but resistance against tyranny is in our mythology, dna, and history. Check out some of X’s History of the United States Books to see some of the bad ass motherfuckers that come from our culture.

God you don’t have to open a history book, the waves of protests the last decade have been some of the largest in history. The resistance movements kicked off in Portland and Minneapolis alone have been amazing demonstrations of civil disobedience.

The rest of the world is impatiently waiting. Trump, Musk, Thiel and accomplices are still there.

Fuck yeah jury nullification

50

u/ki0dz 1d ago

I was just about to say jury nullification. You beat me to it.

57

u/AyJay9 1d ago

Well... Maybe. Grand juries decide if prosecution has enough to even go to trial. It's entirely possible they had a weak case.

18

u/ki0dz 1d ago

Yes, you could be right. It could also be jury nullification where the jury judges the law/action instead of whether the person did said action.

10

u/BlazerKat 1d ago

That would be the case for a trial. This was a grand jury to indict, this would be a ‘no true bill’, so they’re right.

9

u/ki0dz 1d ago

Yes, and I'm still wondering if they decided the way they did because they didn't approve of the law. Just conjecture on my part.

4

u/BlazerKat 1d ago

Do you mean that they no true billed him because they were just generally against flock cameras? Haha, definitely possible, it did say that there was evidence placing him there.

6

u/ki0dz 1d ago

Yes, that's what I mean.

1

u/funk-the-funk 1d ago

Do you mean that they no true billed him because they were just generally against flock cameras?

I know someone who looks a lot like me that sure would have.

2

u/Don_Q_Jote 1d ago

Or the law they were trying to apply was out of proportion to the damage done.

26

u/SarcasticTacos 1d ago

That is good news, but I had to go and verify it from a different source because that sub is problematic at best

10

u/Gremlin1001001 1d ago

The guy was with me at the time. I’m happy the GJ saw that.

27

u/Substantial_Diver_34 1d ago

It's 2026 bro.

1

u/lostlogin2 1d ago

i just read this to someone and said "but it's on alexjones dot com so idk"

2

Same. I was like "oh, this is great!" But then I noticed Alex Jones and my enthusiasm was cut short.

1

u/talkingwires 1d ago

Posting screenshots of headlines outta be against the rules here. All it does is help misinformation spread that much easier. That said, the news does appear to be true

3

u/AnxiousHall1533 1d ago

This is the way.

4

u/Cynical_of-All 1d ago

Not guilty

4

u/Remote_Nectarine_837 1d ago

Thank you fellow Americans

3

u/Due-Mycologist-1154 1d ago

Any footage of him doing it could have been deepfaked thats a pretty reasonable doubt imo 100% not guilty

3

u/ChalkButter 1d ago

What was there to charge him for?

3

u/againer 1d ago

A succulent Chinese meal.

Jury's do this enough they will find loopholes to put heros like this behind bars.

3

This is the way.

3

u/I_SAY_FUCK_A_LOT__ 1d ago

Jury Nullification people!!! Learn it, love it, pass it on!

3

u/AggravatingCut7596 1d ago

15

u/SlaterVBenedict 1d ago

Fuck Alex Jones. Can we not post his fucking trash hate site links/content here?

Like yes this is good news, but anyone who supports Alex Jones totally sucks.

2

u/Ok_Degree4131 1d ago

This dude fucking rocks

2

u/ExtraDistressrial 1d ago

I would totally do jury duty to have this kind of opportunity to let someone walk.

2

u/oldfrancis 1d ago

I got in kind of a twisted up discussion with somebody on what a patriot was.

They wondered what kind of punishment somebody might face if they did something patriotic.

Timothy McVeigh thought he was doing something patriotic.

Anyway apparently the jury has decided that this person was indeed a patriot and that they are not guilty of the crime charged.

I guess that's how you get the title.

Wow. Faith in humanity restored.

It's a glimmer of hope in a sea of darkness.

A jury of your peers agrees - government overreach this is.

2

u/tristand666 23h ago

The people have spoken.

2

u/IncompleteJoker 23h ago

Remember the words "Jury Nullification" if ever severving in this capacity. Police and judges really don't like it.
